Things You Can Learn Watching Independence Day

57) Telepathic aliens cannot sense people hiding from them.

How does that work exactly?
It's like hiding from the monster under the bed by putting your head under the blanket.

Surely putting the blanket over the monster's head would be more effective.

And if the monster's telepathic...?

58. Incredibly warlike and destructive aliens have no idea of tactics, like having large ships escorted by fighters.
59. Large alien ships have no kind of antifighter defence.
60. Aliens do not become suspicious when apparently crewless fighters dock.
61. Aliens do not suspect saboutage when their mystical protective energy field ceases to exist.

Independence Day was on today. I don't care what you guys say, that was a cool sit-back-and-watch-the-action-without-thinking-too-hard-about-it movie!

Agreed! I whatched it yesterday, and It was one of the coolest movies I've seen!

59. Star Fox 64 stole the mothership idea for the Katina level.

60. No matter how advanced an alien race is, they can only make fighter craft that are slightly faster than a F-18.

*coughcouhgF-15coughcough*

61. The alien craft hasn't developed for 50 years, so if we wait until we catch them, they'll be easy targets.

62. There's nothing like firing a nuke above your largest city.

*sigh* I liked this movie...of course, I also liked Waterworld.

63. Almost nobody will try to evacuate thier homes when a gigantic spacecraft hovers right over thier city.

OMG, people like Waterworld?

64. Aliens would send 1 ship to destroy a planet, and when it's beaten, they'd never send some more.

65.Somehow the alien pilots neve need to sleep or eat or anything because they instantly come out as the humans aproach.

66.None of them think its wierd when a ship COMES from earth lands in the mother ship wihthout any kind of clearence and then has no pilots.Them aliens shere where advanced.

I learned that there are no boundaries to no-brainer Hollywood 'USA saves everyone' plotlines!

Like when the drunken pilot blows up a saucer, a general gushes: "Tell the world how to beat these things!"

...So, no other airmen in the entire world thought to pull off one, final desperate ramming attack???

Wow! Those cunning Americans think of everything, eh?

:D

But of course, only an American would ever be brave enough to give his life in a suicide attack!

Only an American could capture a 50 years old alien fighter. Only an American could build a plane fast enought to catch them. Only an American could fly better than aliens. Only an American could make a computer virus. Etc.

@Curt: Is your sig the Iron Maiden quote?
