you miss the obvious point that these arguments/conversations/start when the progresive tolerent left call people who disagree with them facists and Nazis
TIL that it can not be taken for granted that facism / hiltler and nazis are bad you must first make this point that this is so and try to convince people of the obvious before a debate can proceed

Appalling current behaviour!
I guess it was different just after 1945 when "leftists" found documents detailing payments made to informers and collaborators in Germany, Hungary, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Ukraine, the Baltic States, etc.
