Fair enough. I thought I'd seen somewhere that the use of force was a defining characteristic. But obviously not.

It was, and still in in a lot of the world. "Modern" understanding merely needs a power imbalance.

Its because a wife was assumed to have given consent by getting married that a husband couldn't be charged with rape until quite recently.

“the husband of a woman cannot himself be guilty of an actual rape upon his wife, on account of the matrimonial consent which she has given, and which she cannot retract”.
Sir Matthew Hale, 1736.

Most Nigerians speak English as a first language?!
Not according to the Home Office, no.
Charles is monarch of 10 of the 18 listed, +Canada

I had to check, but it is far from most. He is head of 15 countries, and wikipedia has a list of 75 countries:

Underage, and trafficked. Clearly rape. I agree on paedophile though, that is "a preference for sexual activity with a prepubescent child or children".
If orange ("not official but a majority language") simply means that a majority of the people speak it (to some degree), then why are there countries which aren't at least white? (a minority of people there speaks english) :)
(Italy, Spain, Portugal etc)

I just posted it from wikipedia. I am not sure it makes much sense, only the sea is white, France for example looks more beige to me. And as you point out, what is gray suposed to mean? I would normally assume no data, but surely we know what they speak in Spain.

Honestly all this cray of end the monarchy is like saying "close Disney! They make crappy movie and CEO of Disney shouldn't be having that much money! Give Disney's money to public funds!"

I will say that modern British monarchy is doing exactly same job as what Hollywood is doing for America- spreading a soft power. And like Hollywood, British monarchy has done few shares of mistakes and scandals but really would you say "let's close Hollywood! And fire all celebrities! They ain't worth penny and are old system that doesn't keep up with times!:

It's funny you say this: Disney adults and outspoken royalists are two of the most insufferable kinds of people

after all why would they want a monarch that will not listen to their PM when they are basically in charge of Parliament for now.

To deny responsibility for anything bad that happens

Mike Judge got the idea for Idiocracy while watching adults arguing in a queue in Disneyland.

Maybe an Englishman went there, could not understand a single word and concluded 'no data'. Or he could not leave the airport, because he was unable to buy a bus ticket

Edit: And I doubt it makes sense to consider English a majority language in Germany. Sure, a majority learned some English at some point, but I doubt a majority can converse well in English.

You've just made a great case for stopping the practice of flowers at funerals and all public memorials, like leaving teddy bears at the death scenes where children have died. It's not worship. It's a sign of sadness and respect. If people choose to spend money on that, it's their problem, not yours.

Except she didn't die as a child or the result of some tragedy. She died of old age!

Usually when the grandparents of strangers die it's custom only for those who knew the person as well as those who are part of the family to offer condolences.

It's only because she's a Queen and therefore a celebrity that her treatment is different. Anyone else who dies while being a member of the "lower classes" is simply forgotten and ignored. This is pure classism on display designed to keep the English masses from degenerating, for fear that one day they may wake up and realize Parliament is failing.

Actually most of us have woken up and realised that our Parliament is failing,
which is why most of us feel in no great rush to dump the monarchy.

Which is precisely why the powers that be (the London financial district and banks, which also explains why our own media here in the states care so much) are trying to make such a big deal out of her death. Bring Harry and William closer together, strengthen the family, and eventually push to have the royals take on a more political role within the nation (a return to Victoria's level of authority), to save the powerful London financial sector from getting dumped on due to an inept Parliament during a time of unprecedented economic woes.

If there is any group that can be sure of support under the current lot it is the city of london.

We don't know the official cause of death. We can speculate, of course. But we will likely never know, as there is no obligation to ever release that information.

I doubt the British Parliament cares if people leave piles of flowers and teddy bears and sandwiches for the Queen. They don't have to clean it up. The Palace has said flowers are okay (they can be composted), but please don't leave teddy bears - donate them to charities, and definitely don't leave marmalade sandwiches.

Exactly. Mind you, Canada had to dump our previous Governor-General since she was found unsuited to the job in behavior and temperament and expectations of privacy (she didn't realize how little a GG actually gets).

It's a shame. Julie Payette is a modern Renaissance woman - extremely intelligent and capable in a wide variety of academic, artistic, and scientific fields. She was an astronaut with two shuttle missions to her credit and she was the first Canadian to reach the International Space Station. But her temperament was found to be extremely unsuitable for carrying out the duties of Governor-General and she resigned just thisfar ahead of being kicked out.

The Queen would have had to do that, so thankfully all she had to do was a meet-and-formally-appoint the next one (Mary Simon, who got the job despite having no fluency in French; how someone can have a 20+-year career as a Canadian diplomat and never learn French is beyond me - her excuse that she had no opportunity in childhood is ridiculous, as she had decades as an adult).

Perhaps and yet behind closed doors I'm sure the City of London doesn't like the current Tory leadership. If your supposed allies are fools, you'll go down with said allies' bad decisions.

They're grooming the royal family in order to use them as an emergency back up for the nation just in case.

Oh come on! We don't need confirmation, we can basically just assume. She was in her nineties, that's ancient!

Besides if one gets a heart attack or something at that age, it's considered dying of old age. It's not unnatural because the aging process just makes all this stuff more lethal all at once. You don't die from hitting a specific number, you die from a complication who's lethality is supercharged by becoming too frail and weak via oldness.

That's like saying my grandmother died of old age, not from an aneurysm (my dad found her dead on her bedroom floor and when the cops came, they were eagerly looking for reasons to arrest one or both of us for killing her - openly speculating that I'd given her an overdose of her prescription drugs).

Since the Queen was able to meet with the new PM two days before her death, my own personal speculation is that she may have had a heart attack or stroke. We know there were mobility issues, and the Queen looked to be quite frail. But we can only speculate. "Old age" is a copout. There's always something that tipped the scale.

Sounds like your dad was simply unlucky in getting his story straight to the authorities. Could have been overly suspicious authorities as well.

Which most would chalk up to "dying of old age".

I cannot speak for the USA, but I dare so that those in the UK benefitting from the energy market
rip off will find it a useful distraction and delay from taking the necessary restructuring action.

However I am not sure they want a strong monarch; they have been known to raid barons/commerce.

Since the Queen was able to meet with the new PM two days before her death, my own personal speculation is that she may have had a heart attack or stroke.

That is my suspicion too, although it is tempting to think that the sight of two awful Prime Minsters may have tipped the scales.
