TNESI: The Glorious Mysteries

OOC: You just had to double post didn't you? :p

What's an Europe? :mischief: And hey, we are more advanced then you! We like eating raw fish more then we like eating cooked fish! We're so advanced we got sick of eating cooked fish! *remembers he hasn't introduced that to Min China yet* *runs away to write story about raw fish* I digress, ignore the above ranting post brought on by 4 Helen Grace chocolate bars. I will go to sleep. Good Night.

Great update, although I don't quite get why I have to take an economy hit, considering that A) I have more Atlantic ports of my own than you shake a Spaniard at and don't really need Gibraltar all that much, and B) the treaty specifically allowed Leonese (and other allied) trading to go through unmolested. That, taken with the absence of any Pan-Iberian agreements on the front page, leads me to believe that Thlayli is trying to instigate a war between Swiss and I. In response to this insidious aggression, the Empire of Christian Spain declares war on the Mod.

We believe this is perfectly acceptable and would like to reference numerous occasions throughout history where this has happened: the Nazis, Roman Empire, Golden Horde, the Democratic Party of America, and the Mayans.

OOC: *raises hand* Yes, I'm still here in my chocolate induced euphoria. The treaty states specifically "small merchant ships" which for all anybody knows the Andalusians think small merchant ships are paper boats! :mischief:

I still maintain that I have little need for Gibraltar for Atlantic access. Still, it doesn't really matter, so long as certain people remember that they have dues to pay this turn ;)

One last little thing and then I promise any further questions will be sent via PM... but I did say to kill all the aristocrats who proved disloyal and then confiscate their property and redistribute it. Leaving them alive only creates issues. Still, I suppose the living ones might get a little worried. Oh well. Time to go to sleep, it is too early in the morning to be awake.

I'd like to add that they all got PWNED by God. Except maybe the Nazi's - God sorta looked the other way. ;)

Roman Empire: PWN3D by Christianity
Golden Horde: PWN3D by God Smoting Ogadei
Democrats: PWN3D by Jesus-lovers. However, God might be slipping as of late - too many of his minions take a liking to little boys.
Mayans: PWN3D and disappeared.

OOC: Well, that was expected.

To Norse Empire
From Lothringen

For shame, Canute. Our fathers got along so well, but this is how you repay us. Well, my pieces are not all played yet...

To Anyone Who Will Listen
From Lothringen

The Norse have truly shown their colors. Will anyone oppose their treachery and aggression?

To: The Norse Empire
From: Aquitaine

It is with a heavy heart we notice that you have attacked our ally of Lothringen. As such our honour and loyalty leaves us no choice but to declare a state of war between our nations. This state of war will continue until you stop your attacks and agree to our terms of peace. We would, however, like to offer you a chance to save your people. War will not be necessary if you immediately pull your forces out of Lothringen and compensate them with 2,000,000 marks (2 eco-points). Furthermore you must cede the provinces of Poitou-Charentes, Limousin and Auvergne to Aquitaine as proof of your goodwill. We think that is a small cost for you to ensure you do not lose even more as you inevitably will.
If you insist on continuing this foolish war, our terms will only increase.
We warn you that we have many strong allies and we will not hesitate to bring them into this. The direct result will be no more Norse possisions on the continent south of the Elbe River.

From: Holy Austrian Empire
To: Byzantine Empire

We have heard rumors that you are at war with a foriegn power...so be it, they are heathens anyway. We know any money would be helpful...so we propose to purchase your vassal, Hungary, from you. There is a great demographic of that land that is Catholic and would likely become a nuisance for you anyway, why not propose a price and see if you can profit from it at least?

From: Holy Austrian Empire
To: Papal States

Very well, we will acknowledge your spiritual leadership.

Roman Empire: PWN3D by Christianity
lurker's comment: I suppose you don't want to hear my anti-Gibbon rant right now about Christianity being one of the few things that kept the Roman Empire - your faction - alive as long as it did, as opposed to making them weak and effeminate, according to that old idiot.

:p

*shakes head*

1) Good that you decided to completely ignore royal guard.
2) I really love it when mods seek out every and all those little mistakes in orders, specially when the orders were written in 5 mins, and never really try to understand the meaning/idea behind them.

Great update should I say. And I'm playing Poland now.

OOC: What the....?

IC:

We refuse. The spiritual and royal union between the Hungarian King and his wife, a Comnenian Princess, is not for sale, and we are indignant that the Austrian Empire would ever propose such a thing.

Dachspmg, you are just espousing effeminate virtues. :p

(I generally agree with you)

Not even close to being close to being finished, sorry. ;) Perhaps tomorrow, but most likely Sunday.

For all you lurkers, the Irish Empire, Incan Empire, Galicia, Papal States, (though a puppet,) Vijayanagara, and Malayu are all great NPC's. Why not take them, and make my workload even more grueling? :p

Thlayli, I am going to switch to the Irish Empire.

@IP - Yeah, thats what happens when you declare war on Mod Almighty. Reminds of das' posts about WWI and the various screams of "This is SO unrealistic!"

@Pope - You aren't my (spiritual) daddy.

(relatively) Intelligent diplo to come later.

Becasue its immenisly easier to transport goods via the seas and gibraltar than it is to ship them overland through mountainious spain perhaps? The increased costs would damage your economy.

That said;

the update said:
Despite the temporary economic downturn from the passing of the Edict of Gibraltar
severely limiting the mercantile shipping of all but her closest allies, (Byzantium and Genoa)

...eh?

You know...closing off Gibralter warrants an act of war against so many nations who rely on it to get into Atlantic and such, how are nations supposed to care for and expand their colonies if Andalusia deneys military ships acess? its ridicolous, and by now a large coalation of Mediterrean nations should have been assembled to crush Andalusia you know...
