Our starting position :

tnt1startou8.jpg

I prefer to settle on the plains hill, 1 tile to the left, so the silver resource
is in the city radius too. And the extra hammer of course.

Random roster :
Immaculate
GreyFox
negyvenketto
Tatran
The Sansman

Who starts off ?

I agree with moving the settler one West for the Silver to fall within the BFC. As for who starts, I will not be able to pick-up the game until Thursday  (%#$@% real life), So depending on the flow of the game I may need to placed further back in the roster. Anyways I agree with the opinion that getting optics sooner will help us slaughter our neighbors (assuming we still have them:mischief:) and anyone else. As for starting techs I think Fishing then Bronze Working then Iron Works. I think the sooner we rid our continent of the unpure the better (I know, obvious comments, I am just so excited being in my first SG:D:D:D).

I've played this variant about 10 times and most of them were failures.
A very aggressive approach is required. This means we have to prevent
our neighbors developing their lands. We cannot sit and wait until we
have better units. One of the reasons will be playing Mali is their UU.

Post the starting save and i can probably give it a go tonight.
I hear fishing to start. I think worker too so we can go mine that silver for some early commerce?

Ok, Immaculate you start off.
Play your turns, 40 is maximum. After that, only the first round,
everyone will be playing 20 max. Second round, everyone plays 15 turns.
Remember, the barbarians will start to attack around 2400 BC !

Random order :
GreyFox
negyvenketto
Tatran
The Sansman

Got it. Playing tonight.

I am getting a message saying:
"The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed."
Then it crashes to desktop.
I opened it by double-clicking on the save which usually loads whatever mod. Is its 'Blake's Better AI mod' i need or is there something else?

Sorry.

Sorry Immaculate. I'm not running any mods.
I had no problems loading the first save.
Try this save : wrong save :wallbash:

I tried that too.
I am sorry.
Please skip me.
I'll try to figure it out. the next person can tell me how the save worked for them

I can't check the save at work. I just wondering why is the silver hill is attractive to AI to mark it as a good place for a city. Maybe the warrior can first climb it to look around. The other hill with the 4 food resource is hard to beat, though.

Thanks for the input. I already suspected the problem was on my side.
Maybe, a dumb question, but the assets directory has to be identical
with only the 5 sub-directories (Art, Python, res, Sounds, XML) +
the <CvGameCoreDLL.dll> file and no other files/directories ?

If so, maybe this save will work :

No, you go ahead. Tuesdays are my language class.

Kafa Halaq?

Not sure how many turns to play, so I took the conservative 20 turns. With my luck, I think 20 turns is fun enough ;)

Founded Timbuktu 1W on the hills as agreed:

tnt1-BC3970-timbutku.jpg

And headed for fishing. Since we do not have fishing, can't work on the pond yet. Got us one more warrior.

Fishing is in at 3670BC:

tnt1-BC3670-fishing.jpg

... heading for BW next. Meanwhile suspended the construction of barracks to start a workboat.

Now, the interesting part:

1st hut pop:

tnt1-BC3850-hut-gold.jpg

32gold, not too shabby, but I am sure I can do better.

2nd hut pop:

tnt1-BC3730-hut-gold.jpg

43 gold. Ok, my luck is definitely improving ...

3rd hut pop:

tnt1-BC3430-hut-tech.jpg

:woohoo:

Objective accomplished.

:D

The map revealed in 20 turns:

tnt1-BC3400-map.jpg

Suggest building another workboat to hasten growth, and then go for worker then settler once copper is revealed.

I have taken the liberty of changing the name to TNT1, hope you don't mind.

Nice progress Fox. Is our capital defenseless? OK, it's a large map, hopefully our AW neighbours won't find us soon. Good luck with the copper Immaculate. Next tech AH?

Could i swap with someone again? Sorry about this. I am up in another succession game, i have a presentation to give on Thursday that i have to prepare for, and i am going out for supper with friends tonight. I guess you didn't need those details, but its not possible for me to play until friday probably. Looks interesting though. Pottery from a hut is great.
I do think we should get more then two warrior before we build a settler though on always war settings.

I think I will be able to play 4-6 hours from this post (if nobody else wants it desperately). I will post a got-it before I play. I agree with Fox's suggestions, other comments are welcome.
