Tom's Unit Factory

Love the dancing lady. Does she come in green? When I saw this unit it reminded me of a Star Trek Captain Kirk episode. :mischief:

Now to figure out how this beauty can be used in a WW2 scenario.

I will be redo-ing some of them, to get them looking better. And to fix the animations on them (they are skewed a bit from how they are supposed to be and I didn't even realize it until recently, figured out how to avoid that problem). Dark Dancer will probably be the first to be fixed. She doesn't look green in game, although she is green, because the hidden 3ds Max super massive anti-alias behemoth was enabled blurring the units to oblivion and back again.

For the models, I have located the 'Bone' or 'Bones' which controls the weapons that the models hold, now I need to figure out how to attach the mesh to that bone properly, then I should be full set lock-n-load ready to blast my way doing any unit. Not only that, I think at that point, I MAY be able to mix/match model armor, weapons, etc... and make unique units (there are lots of weapon/armor objects included).

As well as modifying the textures, I could possibly make, say, an Amazon unit out of an existing model.

Excellent news Tom. Would be awesome to see different versions of units with different weapons and armour. You could even start doing upgrade lines adding in better armour and weapons for each upgrade. Would be rather time consuming though.

Cheers,

Nick

What do you mean?

EDIT: N/M, I think I see some odd things in a couple of the animations of the gif... w/e that is wasn't there before, or I didn't notice it... it has to be 3ds acting up again in strange ways like it always does. I'll see what is going on and reupload a fix for those couple of flc's.

Okay, 3ds smashed the face in on 3 of the animations, for some odd reason... There are always strange things happening with this, because the opensource NIF importer hasn't been updated in a long time, so it is not exactly perfect with newer versions of NIF and KF files. I'll re-render and throw the fix up in a bit.

Thanks for the quick heads-up on that.

Looks great!

Although were sabretooth tigers really striped?

(I remember hearing that there were actually several different kinds of unrelated sabretooth tigers - very similar forms kept evolving independently - obviously just a very good shape for a cat to be.)

Stripes / no stripes -- either way, it's a great unit!

looks purrrfect Tom :D

and nobody knows if they had a striped, spotted, or just a plain coat since that kind of stuff doesn't fossilize
