Too many postion changes this turn. STOP QUITTING!

Warman, check your PM box. Orders are sent, but sans Communisto.

I seem to have this recurring insomnia. Other than blackheart (who suggested alcohol: I'm only 14!), does anyone have something to help them go to sleep?

Tylenol PM. Works like a charm. Just don't get accustomed to them. ;)
If you don't want to go that route, I find listening to music works. Just a thought.

Orders coming soon.

What's wrong with taking alcohol at 14? I had my first beer when I was 10.. and it just went downhill from there.. Haha

Warm milk is the traditional helper.
:D

reading a boring book helps. DO NOT sit at the computer or watch TV

TIMES UP. Update will be started later today(which is now Tuesday for me) and will be finsihed Wednesday or Thursday.

w00pdeedlewot?

hmmmm...

wow that was quick

eh, no point crying over spilt milk (*ugh, what a disgusting dairy-allegory)

Just got home from school. Warm milk does work! Thanks everybody!

Makes a mental note: Next time, take more than an hour on orders...

Btw, Klerikov - well, it depends on how the update goes. Either we dump you in Armenia so that we have someone to take the blame for all the stuff that is going wrong there now, either we dump you in Galicia with the same purpose but also with a chance of becoming a national hero should you have any success.

The Great War

NORTH AMERICAN THEATER

August 29
CALIFORNIA DECLARES WAR ON MEXICO

August 17-30
General Woods is killed in action when he slips of his horse and breaks his neck. His plans however were to be carried out anyways. Troops from around the west begin to mass towards the front lines in an effort to gain superiority. A campaign is launched on the Baja to capture Tijuana. 2 divisions arrive to fin nothing. The Mexicans had retreated south. The Pacific Mexican fleet has meanwhile moved into the Baja Gulf. The Mexicans begin to close in on Ciudad Juarez when 2 of their divisions accidentally bump into 2 American divisions. A battle nearby the Town of Villa Ahumada has begun as both sides hurried to make battle lines.

In Texas, the Americans foolhardily launch an offensive to slow the advance of the Texans towards Ciudad Juarez. 2 American divisions are now locked in battle with a Texan division right across the river from Ciudad Juarez. 3 Texan divisions are however in range to support the battle and easily tip the scales. The Battle of Pecos River has started.

First signs of invasion was when reports came in of Mexican ships off the coast. Four Mexican divisions crossed over the border. British troops in Belize began to make hurried defenses of Belmopan. The Mexicans however have decided to wait it out, to slowly encircle the city. Reinforcements are needed desperately. Perhaps those French could be of use.

August 24

The American Fleet has moved to destroy the confederate and Texan fleets harbored in Cuba. The admiral of these fleets decides to stay in port rather than fight. The whole of the Texan and Confederate navies are now trapped in port. 2/3 of the Mexican Atlantic fleet had docked the day before and is also trapped. The French Fleet still out at sea is running dangerously low on food and supplies. It needs to dock at a harbor ASAP.

August 18-31

Meanwhile in America, after the death of General Woods, General Al Capone retired from military service although it seems his soul has taken over John Pershing many say.

The Texans continue their advance into Oklahoma and have nearly reached Oklahoma City itself. The Americans have moved 3 divisions down to halt the Texan advance, where 2 Texan divisions meet them. They are currently separated by Arkansas River and artillery has fired upon each other, but no battle has yet begun.

The Confederates launch a lighting attack on the Mississippi as Union forces are preoccupied elsewhere. The unions launches a massive campaign into Kentucky. The Confederate commander disregards orders and retreats to Lexington.

Battle of Washington DC(Day 1-15)-
The Battle of Washington DC has grown to large proportions. Currently there is a total of 220,000 combatants. Many call this the deciding factor of the war.

The first day saw the combatants place their pieces across the map, in an attempt for a checkmate. The second day saw the battle really start. The Confederate attempted to strike behind the enemy using the southern force but the Union sent a large force contingent of their 2 southern groups to chase after them. Now off the battlefield and isolated, the Union and Confederate forces there battled for a few hours before the Confederates withdrew further to the south.

The union and Confederates both sent their centers to secure the middle ground, what happened was a confrontation. The Union forces outnumbered, were forced to withdraw back to their trenches. The union however was able to secure ground faster than the confederates could when the confederates tried to do so from the other side of the map.

The Union used the bridge to the north to try and attack the Confederates on the other side of the river, the Confeds however used their forces to guard against such an attack and trench warfare has broken out in the north.

For the next few days smaller battles erupted as neither side could make ground. The union southern force which attempted to maneuver around the confederates lines were stopped when the confeds built trenches where they were going to attack.

To the South the beaten forces linked up with advancing reinforcements. There was an obstacle though, 20,000 Union troops had positioned themselves in front of them. With ships and artillery pounding away at them, the Confederates were forced to seek shelter. They have been pinned down by a numerically inferior force. 10,000 Union troops also have reinforced the battle near Potomac. 30,000 Confederate forces have retreated into the District of Columbia as orders prescribe and are now battling 40,000 troops there. Another 30,000 are fighting off 25,000 on the other side of the river. Another 10,000 Union troops have landed southeast of the city and are closing in.(located in Delaware on the big map)

(6500 Confederate casualties, 5500 American casualties)

EUROPEAN THEATER - WESTERN FRONT

August 21: The British attempt to cross the channel with more forces, but German u-boats sink several transport ships and kill a few hundred soldiers. All activity to cross is halted until the u-boat problem can be controlled. A few fleets of capital ships should do the job. Also to move the amount of troops they want, even across the narrowest point of the Channel the British will need real ships, fleets.

August 31: In Belgium, German forces have engaged the British Expeditionary Force. They have engaged in the Battle of Charleroi, just 20 miles from Brussels.

The Battle of Metz: (1 German corps=7200 troops. 1 french corps = 7100 troops)

August 15: The French move troops into position for maximum defenses. Trenches are worked upon and artillery put into position. The French seem to be retreating one corps. Germans begin shelling of french positions as they move troops forward.

August 16: The 6 German crops successfully cross the river in the north and begin an assault on the 4 French corps there. The French maximize artillery from their positions there and at Mirange-Silvange to keep the attack at bay. Thousands are dead. The French burn the two bridges to the south and begin to move back north on the other side.

August 17: The Germans launch a full scale offensive against the French lines. 12 German Corps attempt to cross the river under fire with pontoon bridges, the artillery fire destroys the bridges and they are forced to attack into the French trenches occupied by 5 French corps. The Germans try to attack a gap in the French line from 3 days ago, now occupied by 3 French corps. The Germans use 13 corps. The 4 French corps south of the former gap soon launch a counter attack into the German right flank to take pressure off the French center. The Germans repel it. The day proves fruitless for the Germans as the trenches keep them back. An estimated 30,000 total are dead in this one day.

August 18-22: The Germans continue to attack the French lines. Slowly pushing the French back. The French however begin to employ tear gas on the German troops knocking out large amounts of advancing Germans. By the 20th the supply runs dry however and the Germans press the attack. German artillery and unending numbers seem to be working.

August 22: 40,000 French reinforcements arrive and reinforce the north now close to breaking.

August 23-26: The Germans begin to double their efforts and now send men out without ammunition, the French however are running low on space, time, me, ammunition and morale. On the 26th the word is given to retreat. The Battle of Metz is a German victory at a high cost.

(50,000 French casualties. 110,000 German casualties)

The Battle of Rhine: (1 French Corps = 4500 troops. 1 German Crops = 7200 troops)

August 16: The battle begins. The French launch artillery strikes, then stop. Then start again. They also send small hit and run attacks. They bring up forces, then retreat. The Germans are confused as to what the French plan is.

August 17: The French continue this tactic and the Germans do not know when the main attack will happen. The Germans move a corps to defend the south better.

August 18: The French finally launch a major attack.. Four corps smash through the one the Germans had placed just the day before. To the north the French maneuver 4 corps and attack the 2 German defenders on the side. A massive attack along the whole front is called.

August 19-20: The French continue to advance and the Germans are forced to wall back.

August 21: The Germans receive reinforcements, but are unable to carry out their planned offensive.

August 22-27: The French reinforcements arrive and the Germans are forced to fall back once more. After 4 more grueling days the Germans retreat during the night. The battle is a French victory. Roughly a quarter of both armies have been labeled as casualties.

(70,000 French casualties. 40,000 German casualties.)

The Battle of Nice: (1 French Corps = 3,000 troops. 1 Italian Corps = 2200 Troops

August 16: The battle begins. The Italians are ordered to dig in and bombard the French lines. The French meanwhile begin to prepare for a massive attack.

August 17: The French launch their offensive. 2 French corps engage the central Italian corps. 2 more engage the 2 Italian norther corps. The6 southern French corps attack the 6 Italian corps in the south.

August 18: The Italian central corps now surrounded surrenders to the French. The French then advance against the north.

August 19-20: The Italians are able to resist the French in the north but are ultimately forced to retreat.

August 21-22: 20,000 French reinforcements arrive and the French launch their last offensive against the Italians. The Italians hold on as long as possible, but are forced to retreat. The French have successfully repelled the Italian offensive, but a new battle has erupted to the north.

(7,000 French casualties. 10,000 Italian casualties(counting 2000 that surrendered))

The Battle of Brussels: (1 Belgium Corps = 8,000 troops. 1 German corps = 3000)

August 16: It was an unbelievable sight in the morning for Belgish forces. 23 of the German corps began moving south. Everything German from Lesine to Perwez was leaving. The whole southern German front up and left. Belgish forces shouted with glee, but 13 German corps remained. They launched an attack on the defenders, with numbers half of their own.

August 17-25: The Germans launched their attack but it prove fruitless. The Belgish forces had dug in and entrenched so throughly. They fought for every inch of land that the Germans advanced upon. Belgish forces demolished hoes to create bunkers. They collapsed sewers to create large pits for Germans to cross. Every corner there was a sniper every turn there was a machine gun. The Germans halted their advance and dug in as well on August 25. Urban warfare has arrived in Europe.

(5,000 Belgish Casualties. 15,000 German Casualties.)

EUROPEAN THEATER - EASTERN FRONT

August 20: The Germans move their fleets out to engage the British. The British retreat and link up with the Russians. The two fleets battle against one another, but it seemed evenly matched. The Germans finally scored a torpedo hit on the Russian dreadnaught Vasily and retreated as it sunk. (-1 Russian fleet) .

August 23: 5 British fleets rendevous with the Russo/Anglo fleet in mid-Baltic begin searching for the Germans.

August 27: About 25 miles out of port, the Allied fleet catches up to the Germans. The Germans are forced to fight their way to port and under immense fire, one of their fleets are destroyed. Their 2 Baltic fleets are now trapped in port. (-1 German Fleet)

August 30: 30,000 German forces attempt to hit Russians in the Baltic, but are met by 10,000 Russians manning a half competed network of make-shift pillboxes, trenches and artillery stations. A battle has begun.

The Battle of Lodz:

The Russians are forced to retreat after 5 days of battling. Being outnumbered 3 to one and with no reinforcements on the way is a pretty bad situation after all.

(5,000 German Casualties, 6000 Russian Casualties)

The Battle of Lublin:

Neither side makes a move and the Russians now have 20,000 men in the battle. The Germans however can get 30,000 men on the Russian rear and the Austrians could bring 10,000 men up in a few days.

EUROPEAN THEATER - BALKANS, CAUCASUS AND MID-EAST

August 16: Bulgarians refuse to move into Serbia along with Ottoman troops. Something about Zeus, Hercules and a cyclops. The message was quite garbled. Bulgaria along with Serbia have begun to mobilize though.

August 19: After deciphering the Bulgarian message, Greece declares war on Bulgaria and begins to mobilize. GREECE JOINS ALLIES

August 25: The British are able to slip 3 fleets into the Adriatic and attempt to destroy the Austrian fleet at port, but heavy shore guns prevent this.
