Toukon Nes 1.5 : The Great War

communisto, you should be cursing contempt, i quit last turn, lack of time.

All happened as planned....

Good update, except your locations for the rhine battle are wrong. The map shows Strasbourg, strasbourg is up north towards the center of France. See that city next to the Imperial lands of Alscae-Lorraine?

Oh and contempt, bery good victory against the outnumbered germans in the Rhine, however, it shall only make your encirclement that much easier.

August 18-22: The Germans continue to attack the French lines. Slowly pushing the French back. The French however begin to employ tear gas on the German troops knocking out large amounts of advancing Germans. By the 20th the supply runs dry however and the Germans press the attack. German artillery and unending numbers seem to be working.

August 22: 40,000 French reinforcements arrive and reinforce the north now close to breaking.

August 23-26: The Germans begin to double their efforts and now send men out without ammunition, the French however are running low on space, time, me, ammunition and morale. On the 26th the word is given to retreat. The Battle of Metz is a German victory at a high cost.

Tear gas doesnt kill, and gas wasn't used until around 1916.

August 16: The battle begins. The French launch artillery strikes, then stop. Then start again. They also send small hit and run attacks. They bring up forces, then retreat. The Germans are confused as to what the French plan is.

Sorry for the complaints, but this should not have confused the German infantry. It was regular tactics to hit the enemies entrenched with artillery, and harass them over and over before bigger advances were tried.

Warfare followed this pattern:

artillery strike> occasional over the trench skirmishes> artillery strike> grand advance (usually repelled, gained only inches of land) > rise> Lather> repeat.

I don't think trenches are on right now, Panda.
The beginning of the war was a highly mobile affair.

Hmmm should I shoot myself or drink champaigne? das?

Tear gas may not kill, but when an army is advancing and then gets hit by tear gas, they are incapitated, and sumarily mowed down by my Machine guns. Tear gas was used in 1914 sometime, since Warman checked it and I believe him.

Good update. Gelion, I didn't allow you to hide behind Vistula!

Hmmm should I shoot myself or drink champaigne? das?

Drink champagne with gunpowder mixed in it. :p Other then that, you know the rules, first failure, second failure, third failure, then we send you to Ekaterinburg and feed you to the Polar Bears...

Oh, one question. How come did Germans, attacking our trenches, even with numeric superiority, maanged to get less casualties then our entrenched forces? Chaotic retreat?

you know the rules, first failure, second failure, third failure, then we send you to Ekaterinburg and feed you to the Polar Bears...

I'd better send in orders in time for the third update then. ;)

Do people want me to do another summery of the Great War?

Sure, just don't forget to glorify me.

Btw, Warman, just wondering - is there any point to sending the... unconventional orders? Also, anything new on the Legion?
