cus only fanbois and kids will go see an animated one. Live action (heavily cgi but still people's faces) has broader appeal cus they can brand it as an action movie not just a video game movie. Maybe attract some lord of the rings and star wars fans.

Case in point: Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Trick question, the TCM has next to no gore as well.

Yet Warcraft with no gore is really a bad idea. Even the classic games (WC and WCII) have loads of gore. So making this pg13 means that Blizzard only cares to attract small kids.

All the games were T rated so it makes sense that the movie is the equivalent. LotR certainly showed you can get away with pretty brutal fantasy combat and still get a PG-13.
