Population boost among Dialicians results in another 50 men added to their army.

The first galleys are developed in Serdio! These early primitive triemes are made out of reeds, and powered by rowers. They often get lost if too far out in the sea, so they are mostly used for coastal fishing, although some are convinced that there exists a military use for them.

Trade is started between Ikram and Zapata. The city of Terad Ikram becomes the most prosperous in the world as trade caravans pass by from the Ikramian capital to Dak Ir Para. Things are looking up for the Zapatans, as Khodat has finally joined the confederation, and expeditions South have reported of a great city by a magnificent lake. No diplomatic relations have been established though.

Far from their old Kalkan homes, the Konjan have begun to move Northward. The weather is cold, but over the years they have adapted. They have encountered a foreign people that seems to have just recently emigrated en masse to the area. They are called the Alavs, and speak fearfully of some yet unknown force to the East. The Alavs are small in number but more and more tribes are coming daily. Still, the nomadic Konjan are by far the superior warriors.

On Pazak, the Aphreans attempt to subjugate the people they have come to call the Iskadrians. They propose an alliance to the Iskadrian tribes on the Northern banks of the Iskador river, who more than happily agree. Upon reaching this agreement both attack the Southern Iskadrians. The Aphreans had made a miscalculation. Although the Northern Iskadrian land is easier to defend, it is also harder to grow crops in. Thus, the Southern Iskadrians have a far greater population than their Northern neighbors. Two battles ensue. In the West, after heavy losses, the Aphreans advance into the Iskadrian land. Farther downriver, a Northern Iskadrian assault on Southern Iskadria proved futile. The Southerners pushed back the assault and are now in Northern Iskadrian territory. In the meanwhile, some advances are made in Xiwolvae. The world's first orginized roads appear in and around the capital, as engineers lay stone blocks on top of the dirt roads. Crafted so that they fit together they allow for far easier transportation and look better combined with the Aphrean marble.

Aphreans: 50
Northern Iskadrians: 135
Southern Iskadrians: 85

The Roharrim had only recently begun to try to domesticate the horse, but have already made as much progress as the Zapatans. It seems only a matter of time before the beasts are tamed. In the meanwhile, the Rohirrim capital becomes known for fishing, as the lake becomes an essential part of Rohan.

Bronze is developed in Northland! Independent blacksmiths in the Northernmost reaches of Northland came by the metal after combining bronze and tin. The technology has yet to be implemented into capable weapons, but has reached Northland's neighbors of Ipsa as well. The other nations of the Northmen still don't agree on a Defensive alliance, but at least they are all friendly to each other. All 4 expand, but Northland more than the rest.

The Azalian Dialicians are one of the three or four most powerful Dialician tribes, both militaristically and economically. The immediate tribes around them are relatively weak, save for Hamelia which has entered somewhat of a golden age after their defeat of a rival tribe as Azalian Dialician allies. Meanwhile, our Dialicians have encountered trouble in their expansions Eastword with a nearby rival tribe which claims the land.

Story:

A Golden Age!

Zapata was prospering indeed now, and the new city of Terad Ikram did the same. Just like Para Dam in it's time, it was quickly populated and prospered from being the middle of the trade route.

The old Khodat chieftain died, and his son gladly accepted Jatard's offer to join in, and the unification of Zapata was complete.

Indeed, it was a Golden Age, sent by the Gods and the Spirits, a golden age made by Odrik and then continued by Jatard, to come into it's final state.

Already scribes went to Ikram and begun teaching the local wise men of the secrets of writing. Already other scribes wrote down a detailed chronology of all that came before them.

There seemingly was no need for warriors, apart from being hunters and explorers. And that remind Jatard of two more matters that needed to be solved completely. The horses and the Rohan, as always, yet now already the horses were almost tamed and, apparently, Rohan was found. Now, all had to be finished. A way to use horses as mounts and contact with Rohan was the required result, and warriors were still needed for that.

Orders:
- Try to expand on the other side of Ho'Dak again, this time try to expand the Para Dam farmland there as well to increase economy.
- Grow economy by intensified farming along the Ho'Dak.
- Contribute an economy point to trade liek we promised.
- Send some scribes to teach the Ikrameans to write.
- Send 40 Warriors in an expedition to establish contact with Rohan at last.
- Find a military use for horses, learn to ride them.
- Have our wise men find a way to create a wondrous new substance called Vodka (should grow culture).

Tales of a country to the north intensified Theoden was hopeful that the two could become friends and could prosper on the continent. The philosifers would begin to think of names for the island most hopefully a name that would contribute to the horses in the area. Already there were religious teachings of the great god Calliao the great Horse head human body god and the wise friend of Calliao, Fitiho the Fish.

To: Zapata (once we find you)
My men come barring gifts of fish. we hope we can live peacefully on this continent if youd like we could think of a name for it so that we may all injoy it. Also tade and an Alliance may be in our near future if you wish.

Orders:
Expand north up the river to meet a new friend bring fish as gifts also expand around the lake as i was last update on the shore build a fishing community called Fitiho in honor of the fish god

continue training of the horses and teach the men to ride them in use of war (Hopefully i wont have to use them das ;) )

increase economy through fishing

Northland Orders

increase army
expand all directions
distribute new bronze weapons throughout army
spread secret rumors througout other northern tribes to try and provoke 2 or 3 to war with each other
have men work on bigger better ships for fishing, possibly battle

Well, human, it won't be much use for you since we too are about to tame them, and we also have that really cool warrior code of ours. BTW, added in an order.

OOC:  OK, there was no vodka so beer will have to do :D

Bronze is developed in Northland! Independent blacksmiths in the Northernmost reaches of Northland came by the metal after combining bronze and tin.

OK, I see something worng here ;-) I think its copper and tin but I know bronze and tin wont make bronze, minion, Ill blame it on that vodka OK?

IC:

Nation: Aphraea (Pink)
Ruler: High Priestess Aphrael (Espirito)
Goverment: Theocracy
Economy: 3
Army: 135
Culture: Rudimentary

After this miscalculation, the militant-priests in command of the army decide that new strategies must be employed.

i) The army will double its sentries and scouts so as to remain safe from attack
ii) Battles will be fought only on our terms, otherwise we retreat from the field, carrying whatever loot we can with us. Otherwise, carry oin the advance as before, and if necessary set up camp in a defensive place and wait for some recruits to join us.
iii) Send all the loot from the small hamlets and fields back to Iskadria and increase the economy, also funding the training of new recruits to replace our losses...in theory
iv) Get those lazy workers building roads connecting my four cities.
v) Those philosopher-priests are doing a great job working with marbe and stone, lets see if they can improve our weapons of war now.
vi) Maybe we can get some supplies to our allies the Northern Iskadrians, i.e. better weapons / food, but don't take any chances that these may be captured.
vii) Use that money from loot to train up more recruits which are desperately needed.

Not orders ;-)

Did those lazy workers manage to get started on some wlls around our towns or were they too busy admiring themselves? Maybe I could form and take control of a union and force them to work....(don't do that yet, I dont want a civil war ;-) )

Do the Iskadrians have any large villages/towns like a capital?

The Tartrans legend

As time went, almost all of the Tartran tribes were united under Haraduan, The uniting King from Tarantala.

The vast amounts of men under his rule begun the first raids into the Alvas. But soon after all tribes were united, Haraduan died.

He did left a son, but his son was a madman, he tought that the Tartrans must return to their homelands! This was madness, there they will only die. He was removed from power by the continuer of Haraduan. He was called Orgos, he was a god among men, and thats how he wanted all to respect him. He commanded vast invasion into Alvaia, this invasions made the Alvas start migrating south. They were too weak to fight, and too big to stay with the Tartrans, so they moved southward, into unkown lands.

One day in a great battle the god-king Orgos fell in battle! All did not knew what to do. The tribes tought of stopping the invasions and thinking of a new leader. But this never came as a new King rised.
He was named Urku, but wished to be known only as Orkos Din. Orkos was a genius that knew to teach his sons the ways of the Tartrans.

Under Orkos Din the Tartrans took the most lands and begun building a great Palace INSIDE Alvas lands! He built a new capital called ReTarantala and in it made several monuments. One of them was the first stone building, the war tower. This great building was a wtch tower to far far from ReTarantala. The second was his Palace. But Orkos Din died befor the completion of the Palace. His son Aldon Din took power and continued his father ways.

Now iun the days of Aldon Din horses are a key resource for the Tartrans and all know to ride from age 1. From Alvas the Tartrans also learned to use a tool called bow. The threw arrows with it but it was only in the begining of it's grouth.

More raids and conquests upon Alvas continued and the Tartrans were moving South-East towards new fertile lands.

Uh, I don't think even MONGOLS knew how to ride horses in the age of 1. Not sure though, but still. Just thought I'd say.

I'm imagining this is relative to around 2500 B.C. in our universe.

Horses were domesticated by then, but they were too weak to be mounted. They were instead used in chariots. Only in the original homeland of the horses were they strong enough to be mounted. Since in this NES, horses are native in two places, this works out.

In the Northern continent they live at the base of the mountains North of the Kalkans, the great range.

In the South, horses live in the plains between Zapata and Rohan.

Horses may or may not be present elsewhere. I won't say.

I have made a timeline/story for my Aphraeans and put it on my website if anyone is interested, I didn't think I'd post it up here as it is a mixture of my orders, what has happened and a little story and takes up quite a bit of space :D It is
here if anyone is interested.
