I relatively recently sent my computer to geek squad to fix it, and before that PSP9 loaded up fine. Now that I got my computer back, psp runs (meaning I see it in the processes window), but nothing appears on the screen. No "16 bit color mode" message, no windows vista messages, nothing.

Can anyone help?

did you try a reinstall? use Revo Uninstaller to get out the leftovers, then reinstall

Is revo uninstaller freeware? if so, where can I find it?

Also, I can't find the disk. :(

Maybe try running it under administrator mode and/or compatibility (Windows XP).

How do I do that administrator mode?

I tried compatibility mode, didn't work.

It should be under file properties, compatibility

Did some googling. Got [uel=http://www.pspug.org/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?b-PSPv.9/m-1194925635/]something interesting[/url], although I don't know if it'll work (as the situation is a bit different from yours)

Maybe a procedure we call Willy's Reset might work. Immediately after you click on the Paintshop Pro 9 icon Pressand hold CTRL+ALT on your keyboard . Paintshop Pro will ask you if you would like to delete the registry settings for Paint Shop Pro. Select Yes"

I'm stumped then. I'd recommend going on a PSP forum and asking them.

Crazy idea: Download Sandboxie (technically it's shareware but you can use it free) and isolate PSP into a sandbox. See if it works then. Maybe a system file or something is conflicting.

Another idea: Replace the .exe file alone. Don't reinstall, just the exe file. Should be on the CD, if it's in a cab or bin file, use 7-zip to get it out.
