[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

You have to check the CivilizationStartingLocation.sql file in the JFD's additions folder. The remaining tables are there (and in sql format, so way nicer :P). I'm not at my pc rn, so can't check, but most of the maps are names relatively close to the name they have in game. One exception is the new Large Europe map added in v24 (made by Janboruta). I think it's called EuroLargeNew or something like that and its in game name is Greatest Europe.

If you have questions to specific maps, let me know I can help you find the info you need.

Hi, in the in-game mouse tooltip of the mod, it says it's multiplayer-compatible. But whet I click Next, there is only one "solo" option, no multi.
How do I play this mod in multi ?

I already tried top copy/paste the "Earth_Giant_blank.Civ5Map" file to my Maps folder, but as it's said in the name, it's blank, meaning there is no True Start Location, which is not that important, but there is absolutely no resources apart from ancient ruins ! No Oil, no Uranium, no Pearl, no Fish... nothing !

It doesn't, no - because it uses a custom setup screen. If you really want to, then it internally provides support for Hotseat multiplayer...

So I assume that Earth Giant corresponds to Civilizations_YagemStartPosition and Earth Huge corresponds to Civilizations_YahemStartPosition?

But then there's this table Civilizations_AfricaLargeStartPosition - does that map to Africa Standard? Because there is no such map as Africa Large; there's Africa Standard and Africa Giant, the latter of which I assume corresponds to Civilizations_AfriGiantStartPosition.

Then there's a couple of tables in the original YnamepTables.xml that are prefixed with "Amc" and seem to correspond to maps that don't exist, or at least no longer exist - tables like Civilizations_AmcWestMedStandardStartPosition, Civilizations_AmcEastMedStandardStartPosition, and Civilizations_AmcEastMedLargeStartPosition. There doesn't seem to be any such map as "West Mediterranean Standard" or "East Mediterranean Large". Are the tables just deprecated?

All maps that are still supported should be in the Master Support File - including iirc links between map name and table name.

[EDIT] Yay 1500 :happy[FAMILY_FRIENDLY_FORUM]:

Okay, so now I'm having trouble lining up the Asian maps. There are these tables listed in the Master Support File:
  • Civilizations_AsiaStartPosition
  • Civilizations_AsiaSmallStartPosition
  • Civilizations_AsiaSteppeGiantStartPosition
  • Civilizations_EastAsiaStartPosition
  • Civilizations_NorthEastAsiaStartPosition
  • Civilizations_SouthAsiaHugeStartPosition
And these maps:
  • Asia East Small
  • Asia Large
  • Asia Northeast Standard
  • Asia South East Large
  • Asia South Huge
  • Mongol Steppe Giant
So I'm pretty sure Civilizations_AsiaSteppeGiantStartPosition = Mongol Steppe Giant, Civilizations_NorthEastAsiaStartPosition = Asia Northeast Standard, and Civilizations_SouthAsiaHugeStartPosition = Asia South Huge...
...that still leaves, I guess, Civilizations_AsiaSmallStartPosition = Asia East Small, Civilizations_AsiaStartPosition = Asia Large, and Civilizations_EastAsiaStartPosition = Asia South East Large?

There's also a Europe Greatest map, but I can't find any such table. But there is both a Civilizations_EuroLargeStartPosition and Civilizations_EuroLargeNewStartPosition table, so... is it the latter of those two?

There's a fair number of tables whose names don't really line up with the map names, which I find rather frustrating.

Would anyone have a way to get a new version of the "Earth_Giant_blank.Civ5Map" with resources spread out the map ? A version to play it in multi...

I guess you could always just open the map in WorldBuilder, use the scatter resources function, and then save as a new file.

I agree that the naming convention hasn't really been standardised - unfortunately I don't see that happening now.

The greatest Europe map is the EuroLargeNew table.

You can check the YnAEM_Defines.lua file; in there you can see which map files corresponds to which map names and to which table prefixes.

Think I found a bug. I play on the Giant Earth Map with randomized start locations, but when I hit 'restart' on turn 0, the natural wonders don't get placed on the map. Everything else seems to work fine, including resource generation, etc, it's just the natural wonders are missing. It takes forever to back out to the main menu and rebuild the game each time; is there any way I can fix this problem?

Never use the Restart button with mods, or even use Load Game from inside a running game. Causes serious errors with Lua initialisation, and has also been known to have fatal errors with DLL mods in the past.

It has been a very long time since I saved a game using this mod. I have forgot what I need to do to load a saved game.

Nevermind, I located my answer from a topic I started awhile back.

Hello all - I've finally given up on getting an 18-Civ game to work all the way through on my laptop (game usually stopped working with enormous UI bugs in Medieval...) and am going down to the 12-Civ Cordiform map, but probably using 13 or 14 Civs in reality (just too many empty spaces otherwise). I noticed that none of the BNW civs have TSLs, so I would have to do without... that's a hassle, but not impossible to deal with, since mod civs that do have TSL spots can fill in. What couldn't be dealt with was the fact that neither of JFD's Carthages, nor the normal BNW Carthage, have a TSL on this map. Should I just try to give them TSLs myself, or is there some easier way around this? For example, is there a different Earth TSL map designed for less than, say, 16 civs?

I've tried to play on 3 different maps, but none of the civs have TSL, or resources for that matter. The modded civs are in the same boat, otherwise I'd just use them. To make the maps work, I'd have to manually place resources myself then reposition the the settlers with IGE. Then delete city-states that simply belong to the respective map.

Absolutely sure. The problem persists even when YnAEMP v24 is the only mod active. I've checked my settings before I press "Start Game," and tell it that I want TSL only, too.

EDIT: And I believe that all the maps are blank. I have tried four so far, and have not gotten TSLs to work or resources to appear. I have had success using world builder, but that is overwhelming to manually put in each resource in each plot.
