Turn 188 - 720 AD

Emp: No one objected. You are the ambassador. Now let's get moving! :)

Exactly! I'll take the blame if anyone complains.

I hereby, as President of Fanatikou, nominate Cheetah as the turnplayer of the game.

He knows what's going on and what needs to be done.

We have the save.

I am there now.. I can leave the talking to EMP if he wants, though. :)

Ok tell me exactly what you want me to do and who is my contact for APO and which one of them I should notify of my appointment .

You contact is anyone you can find on their team. Try Togas, and ask him for updates on Apolyton's government. You could also try ZargonX (He was the ambassador to us before, perhaps not now).

Anyone have the e mail addresses?

Go to their IRC channel:

Server: apolyton.net
Channel: #isdgfamtalks

There should always be someone of their team there.

Erm.. sure, I just thought you would be playing. Will do. :)

However, it won't be done in the next minutes. We need to plan a bit now. I recieved this mail today:

Cheetah,

In the past, Apolyton has always appointed someone to ferry messages to and from
other teams. We've always had ambassadors ... middlemen ... to handle other
teams. I'm changing that. We don't need to have more people and more bueaucracy
between our teams. Right now what we need is to get some genuine cooperation and
open channels between us, ESPECIALLY since we will be invading GWT WHEN WE NEXT
OPEN UP THE SAVE!

If you ever wanted to chat with us, there will be no better time than in these
next few days. We'll send you screenshots and highlights of the action, real
time. :D

We're open to chat anytime, of course, but thus far haven't seen anyone come by.
Just come to our #isdgfamtalks room whenever you guys would like to have a "face
to face" chat.

And in the future, feel free to email me and if I don't get back to you within 24
hours, email Master Zen and tell him that I'm "lazy and I suck". He'll know what
it means. ;) Bottom line: We need to do a better job of keeping you guys in
the loop.

I'd like to start with your questions:

>> - The future of our tech and gold trades. What are we aiming for? Shall
>> we continue with us sending you gold and you sending us techs? Shall
>> both research for theirselves and then trade?

The answer to this question is complicated, and I think it should depend on what
CFC really wants to do. I know that my team wants to continue our combined
economy approach -- we use our massive research machine to crank out techs and
gift them to you, you subsidize our efforts. Our team has been very please with
the arrangement thus far, as the extra gold has allowed us to both research and
build up our nation, and we have become the greatest research power in the world.
However, we have yet to truely tap that power, once we go Golden Age (around 20
turns after the attack, I think) we will be getting techs every 4 turns which
will (if we keep up this arrangement) be gifted to you guys.

Personally, I think the arrangment has been great for both of us, but I think we
definately need to hear how you guys feel. And if there's a better arrangement
that can be made, we should start talking about it now.

>> - The attack. As you will be landing in two turns time there isn't to
>> much to discuss here, as what I was interested in knowing was if you
>> could spare some forces for Leo's as well as Ruhrpott. Because the
>> GWT-CGN war ended prematurely, I do not believe CFCs force will be

The CGN war ended too soon for both of us. We ended up scrapping our secondary
assault because we felt GWT would move their fastmovers back to the middle of
their empire for protection and our small raiding force that was going for Parth
would get gobbled up. We put all of our forces into one massive armada for the
Ruhrpott strike as we feel it is our most critical mission ... and if it succeeds
it will send GWT into the dark ages. Due to the importance, we're basicly
putting all of our eggs in one big basket. Hopefully, we made the right move.

All our ships are involved in that mission and they're all loaded to the brim so
we really couldn't send any troops to help you guys :( Wish we could. About all
we can do is distract and preoccupy the GWT defenders on the western coast to
hopefully give you guys an edge in your bid to destroy Leos.

Is there anything you'd like to know about your assault next turn that hasn't
been shared with you? Just let me know, I'll tell you whatever I can dig up.

Can you give us some details of your plans too? We really should coordinate and
hopefully you have done so with Trip and others in the past. PLEASE keep the
flow of information open and I'll do the same during these critical turns.

Let us hope that luck is on our side. If these attacks go as planned, we will
have dealt a crushing blow to the seemingly invincible power that is GWT.

Long live our alliance!

--Togas, Foreign Affairs Minister of Apolyton

I'm still not sure if we should try for Leo's or raid GCA instead, but I'm working on it...

Btw: Just joined #isdgfamtalks and talking with MZ. More people is appreciated. :)

How many turns behind Poly are we gonna go?

We might have a chance with them distracting GWT to their FP...:)

Oh, if I just saw their faces when they see that assault... their FP will go like dust into the wind... :nya:

Ýou know our economy better... I was thinking I could sart playing after the strike or so.

Joining...

I say Leo's. GWT can just gift GCA another city if we get that far. I don't want to meet some musketmen cheaply upgraded to infantry in the future...

Edit: Read what you said in the Turn 189 thread. I am convinced of going that route too.

So from what I understand we are going to attack GCAs cities instead of Leos.

All in favor?
All against?

Well frankly I am aginist going to the other continant at all, but since the constition makes me do the will of the people I will elaborate and do my job.

I say we go for GWT, going for GCA will not nothing.

Take out Leos. It CANNOT be recovered. Cities can, Wonders can't. Sir, as a long time civ player, I suggest we hit GWT where it hurts. Hitting GCA will not hinder GWT (think of why the Allies invaded Germany first, durng the WW2).

I think we should continue with joint research as well.

Edit: Any citizen here may present this data as my opinion to Apolyton. That's fine by me since it helps brainstorming.

I second this, they would be dead and would lose lots of money when they counter attack.

Are we still training more musketmen and riders? We are going to need a 'Coast Guard.'

I wouldn't be surpised if GWT was going to position itself for an invasion on our continent.

The problem really is that a ton of GWT's slowmovers would be just about where we land... and they could even get a GL from that fight...
