Turn Discussion

Provo- in the last turn tracker you said that you moved the worker onto the wheat. He should have still had a move left after doing this- did you start building a road for one turn?

Yeah, think that's right, but we'll not finish the road yet, probably should farm as soon as possible anyway. Not sure if we have time to finish the road before moving onto the silver or not but I'm guessing not (we'll want the silver mine up asap too)

Yeah, it's one of those little micro things. Finishing the road isn't important and can happen much later. But since there is a free worker action available it should be taken advantage of.

The worker should have roaded for one turn and then had his orders cancelled so he doesn't accidently finish the road on the next turn (instead of being able to start the wheat).

I'm looking forward to some screen shots again so we can all actually take part in this game. If I wanted to be a spectator I would have joined Merlot.

Cavscout, all of the actions the game has been going for it, has been in compliance with your advise.

The cities we agreed to are settled, the micromanagement the same, Ganges and Rio Grande follows the coast and even the worker is doing the exact work its supposed to do. Above all, we are now doing galley first and the buddhist revolution, as you wanted.

Please cease and desist this personal persecution, this is not the Kazakhstan game anymore.

Provo i'm not persecuting you.

I have been growing increasingly frustrated that you haven't provided the basic information to allow healthy discussion and involvement by the whole team. Is it unreasonable to get a few screenshots????? Is this not a core aspect of a democratic team? Information is power afterall- if it is hoarded and controlled then some players become more "equal" than others.

Here is the deal: We are team and this is a team game. The goal should be for everyone to be able to participate and have fun. In order for people to be able to do this they need info. I know its not your big thing, but some of us enjoy micro. So lets keep the debate healthy and the team strong!

Oh and the last MTDG had nothing to do with anything. My opinions are based on what has been going down in this game.

Yeah, but now its Galdarian's turn to play, yet, we have more or less planned for a few turns (out Alphabet), including city-builds, moved units and micromanagement actions.

Posted some screenshots pertinent to diplomacy in the AMAZON embassy. If we need to snag our city overviews + demographics each turn again that's doable.

Two other thoughts - in about 3 turns we should have enough espionage to see the Vikings full demographics charts, so we can check that out.

Also, we now lose gold in maintenance, 1 gpt for now, maybe 2 in the future. So we should probably look at taking a turn at 0% slider before going all the way for Alphabet (we finish writing this turn) since that is the most efficient. The second city is nice though, adds trade routes and basic commerce and of course the silver will be even better.

Yes we should do binary research for sure now. A turn at 0% :science: right after we finish Writing would be good.

I have heroically managed to finally reinstall BtS after numerous issues! This means I can be turnplayer if necessary, though I would be better as a backup. It seems you might be in need of a backup right now, so I can do that if you need, Provo. I won't be able to play July 1-4 (Canada Day weekend.) In the meantime, Mavericks have offered open borders and here are some screenshots:

Charlemagne that would be awesome. An extra turnplayer, even as backup, can only be a good thing.
Also, in response to a comment (from CavScout I think) i was thinking of starting a sticky thread dedicated to city micro and empire economy summary. Does anyone feel like it's their forte? or are you happy for me to get on with it?

So to confirm next turn:

Workboats are going there respective ways
Continuum has it's queue booked up for a while
Qutronia is busy with the Granary
Research goes back to 100%?

Are we negotiating any deals? Trading anything next turn?
What say you diplomats?

Yes, Galdarian, its your and Charlemagnes gaming now.

Research should go back up 100 %.
Workboats and worker should go on as usual.
Possibly, as we barb-busted our island, the warrior in the center could head for Quatron.

We could open borders with a few, for Buddhism to spread, that would give us some free intel on nations it spreads to. Problem is, they get more happiness.

For the negotiation of deals, we need to figure out the positions of the five teams, and then sequence trades accordingly to these teams preferences.

Yeah, ok. Since he's a going exploring thats sensible.

It would be ideal if we could get it to spread to Mavs and Merlot but I assume that we're not planning on doing that.

I assume you mean positions in the tech tree? Should this be done diplomatically or otherwise?

I don't think open borders is going to change the spread rate of religions, but I'm not sure on that mechanic. We definitely don't have the shrine yet though. I'm not really set against it either way so if there's more in the other thread I'll stop by, maybe we make an OB deal just for goodwill.

That warrior needs to stay put for now. Otherwise there will be tiles where barbs can possibly spawn. We have finally eliminated any possibility of barbs spawning on our island, lets keep it that way.

And the micro discussion should take place in this thread.

Yeah open borders won't have any effect on religion spreading. And in :bts: they took out the whole religious-spying thing- if Buddhism spreads to another city we won't get to see that city in the fog of war. They took that out when they put the espionage system in.

We should probably just accept the OB now so they don't get suspicious. We should also probably decide how to reallocate our spy points as we aren't fooling CDZ anymore (we told them we met Merlot).

The point was not just to fool CDZ. We probably still want the most spy points on them anyway as they are neighbors so we can see their demographics/tech if they switch to anything sneaky.

Certainly at least we don't need lots of points on MERLOT, that would be a waste right now. If we were to switch to anyone it would be India but then CDZ would see that, we hadn't put points on them or MERLOT, and ask what's up there too.

Based on the latest news that Sirius already has Alphabet we should seriously consider going for Math next.

Let's make sure to have a full discussion on this before playing the turn and putting beakers into Alphabet.

I would change that into Math too, hoping AMAZONs are truthful, but that does make a bit of sense anyway.
