Hmm, we should now demand they withdraw their settler from the sacred jungle and refrain from settling there for some number of turns.

Pikes are obviously bad news for our attackers. Escorting a settler with 5 pikes indicates they see some land they really want to own. This is almost certainly the reason they had no gold on hand, they upgraded spears to pikes en masse. If they had had the foresight to keep a pike at home it would have been a much different story.

Can we lure the barbs toward the TNT positions?

Thanks for the tip Ginger Ale, i must have looked through there half a dozen times and missed it.

As for TNT, it would seem that they are fairly keen on keeping the gems, which i'm not particularly fussed about as we are nowhere near them. I think we should focus our efforts on getting the silks as both KISS and MIA have expressed interest in trading for them since they don't have them on their continent, so we can get a 2 for 1 deal there.

As for whether TNT excepts peace or not, we are in a good position either way. If they go for peace we get currency and we can use the fact that we have more troops to set up a perimeter of sorts in the jungle which can act as a defensive point in case they try to attack again or a launch pad in case we want to attack. The fact that they seem to have spent so much upgrading to pikes and the fact that i this attack we have seen only 1 immortal leads me to think they haven't got many left to spare, maybe 6 or so, plus we will be able to match them soon with med. infantry. It will also give us a chance to build settlers and workers to expand our borders rapidly.

If they choose to continue the war then since we have an big advantage now in a military sense, we can still devote resources to expansion, however we will need to build up our forces for a final strike. In the mean time we can continue to use small forces as now to harrass them, by pillaging and taking the odd city on the outskirts of their empire when we can.

All in all we are in a good position at the moment

We expect your remaining military units north of the Sacred Jungle to withdraw to your zone of control in an orderly and timely manner in accordance with the proposal you made. What does "under the terms previously negotiated" mean? It looks like they are having trouble figuring it out too. Make sure it is a 40 turn peace if at all possible.

No peace treaty. We are not going to let them off just when we go on the offensive. At least half thier nation must be under dountian control before peace is a viable option.

MW are obsoleted by now. TNT will have Knights soon. Accept the peace treaty and do start fast expansion phase immediately. I think TNT had a granary in Carpetbomb that should limit TNT's growth for a while. Nice work on razing those towns

BTW. Is the next turnplayer decided yet? If not I could play next 10 turns or so.

I´m for peace now also. We can`t wage war on the other side of the jungle anyway, even if no pikes were around. Our surprise attack paid off, we dealt more damage than we recieved and even killed their army.
Let`s not overstretch ourselfes.

Turn 98

We have peace today. TNT has returned our workers and sent us Currency. However there is some bad news, apparantly being in a war with despotism makes people happy, so having signed the peace agreement it decreased the happy people. This also ment that Springfield, Shelbyville and Never Again fell into disorder. Now while the reducing of happy people is no big deal, i am very very angry with the whole disorder thing, because what happened to the 1 turn grace period before a city goes into disorder? After playing the save i went back and checked and not accepting peace would have left our cities functioning normally.

Otherwise all is going well;
Sugar builds MW starts another, this has started a new squad to be named Hot Doughnuts (HD)
Coffee builds spear statrs another, but this may be changed, i was thinking of building some catapults.
Strawberry was founded and starts on FP.

That still doesn't explain (to me anyway) why we wouldn't get the 1 turn grace period before rioting began. I know in the overall scheme of things its only a small issue but doesn't make it any less annoying

Turn 99

Order is restored in the cities and all the barbs are wiped out north of our borders. The new HD squad took out a barb settlement and collected 25g east of doughnutia. The mil advisor says there's another settlement near strawberry, which a squad will be sent to take out.

As it is now MIA and K.I.S.S. are in the Republic and they have as much military as we do. Military adviser says we have average military. That means they must suffer major unit support cost but that is not true. MIA's scientific effort has been top-notch. Extra commerce and lower corruption does the Republic to be superior. Thus remember that we get 3 free units per city, size 7-12.

They have at least six cities more than us and two more luxuries as well so they can sustain larger cities too. Also my concern is whether TNT will stick to the agreement long enough. I personally would go for the switch to monarchy first, then in 40 or so turns if its possible switch to Republic. However having poll on the issue would be a good idea so i shall put one up.

TURN 100

Well my last turn begun with a bang, TNT have founded a city on the edge over the jungle to steal our Incense, poor bugger probably need it after we cut off their ivory . As far as that goes, we can always settle next to it, pump in some culture and watch it flip.

Anyway also in the screenshot you can see i outlined the next 5 city placements, although discussion about order and position of placements is most welcome.
