The Regent's Instructions -

I want detailed notes, battle logs, lots of screenies (at least 6 to 8), and I want to know how many turns you are going to play before you start. If you're going to play more than 5 turns, I want a save after the 5th turn. :)

BTW that's 08/14/08, ...............NOT 08/17/08.

Please take a detailed look at your HOF options (Main Menu -> Advanced -> Options, I guess), and try to check as many of the Autolog options as possible. The log should then be in the Autolog folder in your Civ4 BtS folder. Also get the chatlog, use mIRC for that (ie. don't use the forums chat option).

I suggest trading Philosophy for Optics with Augustus, that trade was suggested by myself in the previous thread, and no-one spoke out against it. It will enable Astronomy.

You might want to take a look at the worker instructions I posted in my last turnchat, since many of them still hold today. I might take a more detailed look at the game later today or tomorrow.

I also think you should move our battle stacks near NG and Edorai to the locations as shown in the battle plan (near those two Babylonian cities, on the road to Babylon. I wouldn't declare war yet, if you're only going to play 5 turns.

The longbowman near Arete is going to the south of Spain, to relieve a war elephant of city guard duty, so the WE can go towards the front.

Also, it's custom to post the starting save in the first post. In this case, be very very sure to take the 3.17 save, with the HOF mod loaded. :)

I request that the Worker closest to Venice be named Vandal the Rebel (or Vandal the Burning) as punishment for attacking the citizen of Venice in the RPG. This would be for a period of time to allow calluses to cover the blisters on his hands, that he is sure to get. If more than one worker is close to Venice, you may name them after your choice of Hounds of Gallow.

All EP's are still being spent on Lincoln. I'd suggest spreading them around so we can see everyone else's graphs.

Please tell me you are joking.

No way I'm joking. Vandal has to rectify his cruel ways somehow. Honor Camp worker status for a while should do just the trick. Please chose the appropriate worker and name him justly (or thusly!).

Thank you,

The Warlords wants Arete to turn over the pigs to Edorai!

Also want to declare our planned war the Crab War, and we should opt for a crab trade deal with the Babylonians for the extra health Edorai needs in the interim.

I would like to change from playing 5 to 7 turns. Should I declare war? Cyc do you still want the save after turn 5?

No, let's keep it at 5. That's what we have been planning on. No war, either. We are just building up to war this TS. It's an off-line TS, so there won't be much drama. Set up the war in 5 turns and dutchfire will declare on Saturday (or whatever day). Thanks for keeping me posted, though. I appreciate it.

Considering Lincoln now has knights, a serious threat to our armies, I think we might want to reconsider our attack plan.

I propose this plan:
attackplanpm6.jpg

Our current new giruvegan stacks takes the western path, through Dur-Kurigalzu. Our current Edorai stack takes the eastern path, through Nippur.

This attack takes 6 turns of movement, and probably 4-8 turns of bombardment and attacks. That should take out 3 Babylonian cities, with 34 population and several wonders, all in one turnchat.

You'll be wondering why I'm now suggesting this plan, while I was previously advocating attacking the flanks. During the troops counts I noticed that most of the Babylonian troops were placed in the fringe cities, while I was expecting them to defend their core.

If we decide to follow this plan, I think we can go once our stacks have moved to their starting positions, and once the current samurai, horseacher and scout in Babylonian territory have been evacuated to a safer place.

Taking Astronomy as the free tech from Liberalism and bulbing printing press would be more efficient.

Please keep it at 5, then everyone will be able to see the save before declaring war.

I'm not opposed to trading with Babylon for their crabs, but whatever you do, don't demand the crabs! A demand automatically leads to 10 turns of peace, which is not what we want.

The Warlords wants Arete to turn over the pigs to Edorai!
Arete needs the pigs more. Edorai is already at the population level needed, while Arete should still be growing bigger.

With the crab deal, and the Swines, Edorai can climb to 11 population, and thus produce even more!
