Aspyr Media today announced the release of two new patches for the Macintosh version of Civilization IV: Civ4 v1.61 Rev. B and Civ4 Warlords 1.0 Rev A.
Major feature of these new patches is they add cross-compatibility with the PC version of the game through Gamespy. Sound errors in the tutorial when playing on Mac OS X v10.3.9 have been fixed, along with a black screen window problem. A crash in the German tutorial has been fixed, the “Fog of War” effect is fixed, terrain issues have been corrected on Macs that use the Nvidia GeForce 7300 graphics chip; and other graphics issues involving Nvidia GeForce 5200 and GeForce 6800 chips have been fixed. The Warlords update contains more than 100 bug fixes and changes, according to Aspyr. System requirements remain the same in both changes.
