When the U.S. GDP declines 50% and most of America's workers go on strike, you can pretend you have a point.FriendlyFire said:Theres NO IRONY in that statement no irony at all.

The US economy has taken "significate" hit from the mishandeling of Hurrican katerina. I can easily see another "natueral disaster" or a turn of events for the US in either iraq or Afganistain and you will have your depression and chaos on the streets

Chavez is just using the United States like the Arabs use Israel - to deflect all problems upon so that the real issues are ignored by their populations.
Chavez has been a total disaster for Venezuela, but as long as he can keep his people blind to his incompetence (arguably sadism) he'll have it in the bag.
Apparently you are unfamiliar with the U.S. electoral process, since income has no effect on the number of votes you are allowed to cast.jwijn said:And when the income gap shrinks and the standard of living for the bottom third of our nation increases then you can pretend like you have a democracy.
Cheerio.
I'm going to say it again: the comparison is stupid because we're talking about two very different circumstances (and two very different individuals.) If we're going to make comparisons based on only what you find to be humorous irony, then I'm going to make jokes about Stalin being the chair of the Democratic Party or Michael Mooron being the reincarnation of Lenin.FriendlyFire said:I do find it highly ironic the choice of words and line of attack.

No, but it does seem to dictate how much access you get to your representative and how much media one can use to blot out opposing viewpoints.rmsharpe said:Apparently you are unfamiliar with the U.S. electoral process, since income has no effect on the number of votes you are allowed to cast.

It's what we do, we make excellant plans for how to do things, and then if we think we need to at some time in the future we just pull it off the shelf, modify what may have changed (Increased arsenal and whatnot) and we're good to go.
