EDIT: See post 10 (the real save is on post 17)
Hi folks. I've had this map for a while (actually, a little over a month) and have been consistently frustrated.
It's a map that is designed to be an [insert title here].
I have played this game out several times and ended up in defeat every time.
Don't worry, this game doesn't start you with a crappy leader next to aggressive AI's. That gives the human no chance and I wouldn't be wasting a thread on that. What this game does is give the human a favorable situation in his/her continent, but with peaceful AI's on the other continent to ramp up the challenge.
In fact, I even started 2 AI's next to each other (on your continent) that are worst enemies!!!!
It's looking optimistic, isn't it?
To make this "easy," I selected Huayna Capac as the leader. He's pretty awesome, isn't he? And check out your start!
That's probably a hall of fame start right there! I even had the generosity to put ocean fish which is immune to barbarian galley attacks! And I start you on a plains hill. But play out the game ... just play it out.

Here's how my most recent game went. After this game was played, I edited the map to make it easier on the human player. For instance, I inserted a gem resource near the start. I didn't have that in the game I'm about to show in spoilers.
If you plan on playing, you might want to avoid the spoiler.
That's an early Taj Mahal.
Fast forward a few turns later, and I lose in 1490 AD.
Wow, Tokugawa managed to be quite powerful in this game.
1490 AD and Mansa can research Satellites. He would have launched in the early 1600s. He also built Apollo in 1420 AD.
Good luck.
Some words of caution ...
If this map proves to be too difficult, I will delete a few gold mines on the other continent. Also, I could make some immortal/emperor etc. saves.
The save has been deleted, go to post 17.

- When I edited this map, I tried to make it as close to standard as possible, with exceptions near capital locations. This means that you should always see corn on grassland, wheat on plains, no mountains in a capital's starting cross, etc.
- I have modified the capital locations in order to suit the gameplay experience.
- You are industrious, but have no stone or marble around. This means you might want to avoid some early expensive wonders. However, don't hesitate to try and build one. In one attempt of mine, I built the Great Lighthouse and that helped me get about 250 beakers by 1 AD.
- (I recommend you build the Great Lighthouse.)
- Do not try to beeline to Aesthetics and build wonders unlocked by that technology. You will not succeed.
- When you meet the other AI's on the "techer's" continent, you will be extremely far behind. Don't get discouraged! I have inserted a ninth leader in the game who is isolated. Use that AI to help catch up in tech! The isolated AI should be worst enemies with some of the techer AI's due to the base peaceweight factor.
- Try to get a religion on your continent. It will be hard (but doable in my opinion).
If this map proves to be too difficult, I will delete a few gold mines on the other continent. Also, I could make some immortal/emperor etc. saves.
