An ostrich burger. It was horrible. While I was frying it up it smelled like I was cooking a 3 day old corpse. Tasted horrible. Took one bite and threw it in the garbage.
The wierdest thing I have ever eaten was probably moose burgers. My uncle went hunting and shot a moose, so he gave us some of the meat. It tasted alot like regular beef.
i ate a deep-fried steer testicle once. it was rubbery, and it tasted horrible. I bit it in half, and the the cross-section revealed a couple little 'tubes'. I spit it out and threw it away. My cousin like it, though.
I tried rattlesnake a few months ago. It was in my mountain cabin's front yard, in the bushes. We flushed it out and bashed it with a rake. My brother-in-law then pinned it down with the rake, and I chopped its head off with an axe. then we skinned it, and my wife gutted it and cleaned it. Then we threw it on the b-b-q.
defends on your defenition of wierd.
this one "dish" i've always though was common, but lately found out that almost no one knows about it:
Fried Flour.
basicaly fry white flour in a frying pan. needs a good bit of butter so as not to burn, and a good bit of sugar to give it taste.
the more butter, the more it sticks together (becomes almost like a pastry) and the more sugar the sweeter it becomes (duh. but i think you need atleast some sugar for it to cook right).
its done when its golden brown.
you need ot mix it a LOT, and i dont suggest cooking it on high heat the first time or you'll burn it (because you wont mix it enough).
jellyfish or chicken feet/claws... or maybe pig hooves... cow tongue? eh, i can't decide... but it's definitely one of them... or coagulated cow blood-- which, by the way, does NOT taste good.
EDIT: don't forget quail eggs... just don't think about it while you're eating it! and sea cucumber-- bleah. tastes like... rubber. and pidgeon is good, too, if not just plain creepy when you see its LIVING form pecking food outside. and i think-- but i can't remember-- that i've had snail. i'm pretty sure i've had it before a long time ago... probably wasn't that bad, but i'll never eat it again.
