Unexpected site layout changes, January 9 2025

Ever since this new "update", the enable push notice shows up every time that I log in. I close it and select "never ask again" but it happens again when I next log in. This has been a downgrade, not an update.

That seems to be the case for those of us who cleanse all cookies upon logging out. I'd suspect the, "never ask again," is cookie tracked.

Oh, look. My badge is back to olive/forest green. I wish it would pick a color and stay with it.

I am not sure I can change that really. I will have a look on Sunday.

The color palette of the staff badges is inconsistent for me (I use Dark CFC). Some days they're one shade, and another day they're a different shade (bright vs. dusty). Sometimes my own Retired Moderator badge is pale green and sometimes it's a color I can only describe as a combination of dark olive and forest green.

Right now nothing should be changing. Are you sure your monitor is alright?

This is indeed tracked via cookies. I don't know why this would only show up right now though.
We have an option in the user profile to permanently disable this though.

Right now nothing should be changing. Are you sure your monitor is alright?

I've also noticed oddities in the map threads here. There's a problem with blue and grey (what others tell me is grey actually looks blue to me).

I don't have this problem on other sites, so I think my monitor should be okay.

I suppose it might have something to do with my Dark Mode settings that apply to most sites I visit. I had to do this to make it more comfortable to read everything. But the theme you designed has been working for me except for the badge colors. If anything else isn't working (someone mentioned link colors) it may be that I just didn't notice.

Please keep in mind that these issues don't make the forum unusable for me. I just find them bizarre. It's unsettling to see the way the various moderator and admin badges change. For instance, your own currently looks red to me. At other times it's looked pink and I kept wondering why you'd have pink ones.

As for images, the ones I post are done by using the attachment feature. I haven't had any problems there.

Always has been. For a definition of "always" that predates this specific upgrade (I was testing it a few months back - can't even remember why).

Thanks! I found the option and disabled it. That solved the trouble.

I just want do add that dark reader on firefox works well for the forum as well as dark mode on Brave

To be fair, I didn't actually say it started with the new upgrade. I learned of the issue several months ago, too.

Okay, that is... strange.
Please observe and let me know if there is any repeating pattern. This might help me to get a clue about what could be happening there.
