• Civ7 is already available! Happy playing :).

Civ 7 release date is in the first quarter of 2025 per quarterly report

Perhaps it's a good idea to add the explanation of the "fiscal year" terminology to the OP?

I know I was confused as well and basically just accepted it as true only because I trust Eagle Pursuit to be accurate.
Good idea. I added more detail on Take Two's fiscal year to the OP.

To be totally honest we should put the two years of a FY to be more understandable, like FY 2024-2025. Because as others have pointed out we could see the Q4 of "FY 2025" as Q1 of year 2026.
Except, FY2025 is the accurate name. It doesn't matter that it crosses two calendar years. It is confusing, but it's just one of those esoteric things that go with corporate earnings reports.

Speaking of 2026, it wasn't long ago that some of us were convinced we wouldn't see Civ 7 til 2026. I'm glad that was wrong :D. Next Jan-March isn't so far off..

I've seen it the way I mentioned too, a lot. Maybe americans are different. :D

You are not supposed to know I voted for 2026 in this thread : https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/when-will-they-announce-civilization-7.689582/ :D :hmm:

This whole thing will probably be moot in less than 2 weeks anyway if they give a release date or release window when the gameplay reveal rollout begins on the 20th. "Fiscal year" isn't exactly an esoteric concept, and it's explained pretty clearly by Laurana just a few posts down on the first page anyway.

I agree, but for those two weeks, we'll probably have a steady trickle of people who read the first post, are confused, and then make a post themselves without reading anything else.

Plus let's be real, it's just a bit of extra convenience for them (and those who read the first post but don't comment).

EDIT: I missed that there was a new page, reading that first I guess.
EDIT2: Ah yeah it was already resolved.

I feel quite smug?

I got the FY Q4 2025 thing right away, and did an old guy dance.

HUZZAH!
Me too. Fiscal years is everywhere. How is it half of facebook (I'm in a couple groups) snd cfc have missed it?
