Minutemen 32 - 4 = 28

Now that we're down to eight UU, it is easier to do some head-to-head comparisons. Both minuteman and janissary replace the musketman. I'd rather have the attack bonus and healing power than the movement bonus and drill.

-4 is too much. It gives too much power to the hater and makes upvotes pretty much a formality.

Not with all these buffed numbers. These units are all strong. Lot of debates to come. We also have to finish this more sooner than later :old:

Janissary 42
Keshik 26 It may be fine against city states but compared to previous mounted units, that it is as fast as (e.g companion cavalry), it's rubbish!
Longbowman 39
Minutemen 28
Ship of the Line 30 I mentioned before how powerful it is!

Come now, the Keshik is one of the best, if not the best option, for medieval-era blitzkrieg! Racking up logistics/+1 range and you can take even Industrial cities with a herd of them.

Camel Archer: Nothing against it, but its the Poor Man's Keshik.

Minutemen FTW. There is nothing like a swarm of Mechanized Infantry which ignore terrain penalties and have +1 sight.

Camel Archer is good, but not as good as the rest.

On the CKN vs Longbowmen argument, I would go with the CKN. Both of them are destined to be 2 shot +1 range units. The CKN just gets there faster because it gets 2x the xp every turn.

SOL - no starting promotions to pass on when upgraded.
Carolean - march is sweet on Mech Inf

Keshik: I don't know why I am even seeing down-votes against this unit. I can only figure those down-voting are wearing 'creative' blinders.

Ship of the Line: Water unit still remaining, it had a good run, but land is always relevant, and water isn't always relevant.

Janissary for healing, being fun to constantly be on the attack, and Camel Archer for being overrated. It's not that much better than the Horse Archer which left us not too long ago.

At first I was like "whaa?" but then I was like "ah."
But seriously, he's right. Every possible reason for an upvote (fast movement, double XP generation) or downvote (its a dumb trireme) has been given. Now we just see preferences. These are all great units.

Camel Archer 18
Carolean 22
Chu-Ko-Nu 42 (+2) What ultimately makes this the best unit in the game, in my opinion, is the upgrade path. Double shot, March, double range Machine Guns are invaluable well into endgame. The ability to attack without taking damage is so much more valuable than a standard melee attack. Mech Inf. are great, but in my games they're usually used more to mop up cities than to engage enemies. Granted, most MP games I play in don't make it to the late, late stages of the game.
Janissary 43
Keshik 28
Longbowman 39
Minutemen 29
Ship of the Line 18 (-4) The best ship, but without the UA, it is just a strong ship, akin to a ballista or hoplite.

Its not that much better than the Horse Archer? Say What? A Camel Archer is closer to a Keshik than anything (4 movement - higher combat strength than the Keshik, on a better all around civ, can move after attacking unlike the Horse Archer) - They aren't really all that similar.

Camel Archer 19 (+1) I believe the Camel Archer and Keshik are better units than the ChoKoNuh and Longbowman (I believe the CKN is also better than the longbowman but just barely - but thats another story) - Mobility and momentum is everything and the power these things accumulate means you can use them well into the ages of artillery and still kill many riflemen/artillery. And as Arabia with your double oil then you can proceed to bomber the hell out of the world
Carolean 18 (-4) The worst of the UUs left. March + medic is ok but nothing special compared to what the rest of the UUs can do. It doesn't get anything particularly special out of pillaging which an earlier poster mentioned that other units wont be able to do as well. Its a rifleman replacement - a lineage that isn't quite as important anymore

Obviously it depends on how you look at it. Horse archer is in a different era.

Kesh gets more movement than the Camel, more great Generals, and more earned experience. A far better deal than the small amount of extra strength the camel archer gets.
