Horse Archer isn't a horseman replacement...

This reminds me of the guy who voted down Companion Cavalry because it was a lancer replacement...

Something tells me these people don't use horse units enough to see how powerful they are

It was a MISTAKE! I was thinking about horses and then accidentally typed horsemen instead of chariot archer
 
Dromon generated quite a lot of discussions and it proves that some players are more used to early conquest than others ;) On water maps starting bias or not you often begin close from the coast anyway. Personnally i would put it 6th or 7th. But fate is fate and past is past. Now, let's take a look at the final ranking...

Longbowman : What a great unit. His only down point is his inability to shoot over hills when on flat land. But his successor the gatling gun can continue his job.

Horse Archer : Can be countered with CBs in mp games. Can't upgrade properly when reaching Chivalry.

Time to begin my dromon-inspired, Horse-Archer rage fest.

Horse Archer, you are fat, ugly, worse than the War Elephant, and need to die. (I have started next to Atilla in literally 5 straight games, so i've seen a fair share of horse archer carnage).

I feel sorry for Camel Archers, having to be so similar in style to the Horse Archer. Those poor Arabians have such a great hit-and-run unit, but lest people still squander precious time with the Horse Archer. Camels > Horses. kthxbi.
 
Keshik 40 It can attack twice, that's good. But when it comes against any strong melee unit, it's screwed.
Ship of the Line 33 Now this has a great edge in naval combat. Combined with a caravel, it is the equivalent of a battleship and a destroyer capturing a city. It's by far the best.

You are the first one to downvote this unit :goodjob: I'm close to do the same since in mp they don't really shine compared to other UUs available. Good point about the Caravel(can capture cities like the Privateer and is available earlier)

Shouldn't the Keshik be at 39? it was at 42 when skibbi downvoted it and it is at 40. Also, the Ship of the Line, shouldn't it be at 33?

Also, Crawf0rd's votes seems to be forgotten

Not sure that normal people would agree though. Only crazy ones like me :crazyeye:

Too bad that the religion thread is dead but if we had split pantheons/founders/beliefs and enhancers separately they would have more success. Kind of annoying right now. I almost had done the same for this thread but it was technically impossible. Fortunately, enough people are voting in it to make it worthwhile.

Chu-Ko-Nu 36 The CKN gets its promotions quickly, and with it getting range so fast, it upgrades nicely into gatlings.
Horse Archer 8 While the horse archer is powerful, it becomes obselete quickly and doesn't upgrade well ata all.

DOWNVOTE: Horse Archer, because I'm not a fan of Ancient Warfare. It doesn't suit my style of play.

UPVOTE: Sea Beggar. Because of 3 things. It synergizes well with the Dutch UA. Capture coastal cities with luxes so you can trade them away. They help add to your already substantial gold stack as the Dutch. And supply promo from the get go is awesome. Great for those long naval campaigns far from home (grabbing those luxes)

We have a separate forum area for this type of threads, and we only "tolerate" them here because we are still in the beginning of the G&K discussions and because they were not too many.
If somebody dumps now a half dozen of them into the forum, we'll have to move them to the forum games area, and I guess nobody wants that.
