It's quite surprising how few jet fighters there actually are available to Civ3. More (and better) are definitely needed. So here's a list.

Russia:
F-15C Eagle
F-15E Strike Eagle
F-16 Falcon
F/A-18C Hornet
F/A-18E Super Hornet
F-22 Raptor
F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

USA:
Su-27 Flanker
Mig-29 Fulcrum
Mig-35

Asia/China:
Mirage F1
Mirage 2000
JAS39 Gripen
EF-2000 Eurofighter

Most of these units have already been made - check the unit library for details. The only exceptions, IFIRC, are the Mirage F1 and the 2000.

I've areadly made the Mirage 2000 and I'm in the process of making the Mirage F-1. It's amazing how little research some pople do and just expect eveyone else to do it for them.

I am very well aware that most of those units have been covered, but most of those are of sub-standard quality. I considered commenting that on the original post already, but a) I though that ppl would realize that anyway b) I didn't want to sound rude. But still don't take it too harshly: I do infact use some of the units mentioned in the list already (like F-15, Eurofighter and Wyrmshadow's Mirage), and they're fine as they are, but I was hoping for even better or otherwise slightly different versions (a single-seater version of the Mirage for example). Maybe I'm blinded by the astonishing quality of Ripptide's and Wyrmshadow's recent releases, but some of those older units don't quite satisfy me.

And btw, if you'd be so kind, where are those Russian jet fighters since I have found none of those mentioned in the list?

I've been trying to find Mig-29 models to no avail. Bebro has done the Su-27, im sure it's in his unit signature and snsfro has made a passable modification of that Su-27 to make it a Su-35 with the canards. How to look for them? be creative since the search function has been dissabled. And yes my older units look terrible situated next to my newer ones. Find a Bebro post and you should be able to find most of those jet fighters. I currently have no plans to make new ones of the planes he has already done.

A new Humvee would be nice as the old Humvee doesn't make the cut for the quality of units I demand. Either make a new one from scratch or something somme resizing, coloring like more camo oriented and less solid, etc. Make tweak the animations a bit.

I also need an infantry guy, something vaguely like the modern infantry or spetnaz only with more black/darkgray urban camo, or maybe simply a SWAT policeman armed with rifle/shotgun/mp5.

I will need these for this vague but really cool idea I have for a scenario.

Humvee

A desert one would be especially cool.

As for the more urban oriented infantryman

These look like they could be up to par.

I cant find too many pics on the infantry image but it'd be cool nevertheless. The Humvee is most important to me.

(edit took out unimportant pics)

ok first one up P-80 Shooting Star

second KA-60 Kasatka

ka60_1.jpg

Your loss.

ouch, when i say i never go there i mean only several times a month you dont have to be pissed about it.

A pack of japanese units were available with Ptw and some more were added in the customization forum.
Special thanks to Kinboat and Dom Pedro II !
:goodjob:

But nothing for Chinese ?!!!!
They were and are a great civilization which is very different to the West one.

I propose :
Warrior --> Shang warrior (already available)
Spearman --> Ch'in halberdier
Swordsman --> Ch'in swordsman
Pikeman --> Han Spearman
Medieval Infantry --> Ming Halberdier

Archer --> Ch'in crossbowman
Longbowman --> Han crossbowman
Arquebusier --> Ming rocketeer
Infantry --> Imperial Army infantry or Warlord Army infantry

Horseman --> Han lancer
Knight --> Sung cavalryman
Dragoon --> Ming cavalry or Manchu cavalry

I've posted some of those figure in this thread but here are some news :

Western Han infantry – 202 BC – AD 25
1 : Spearman
2 : Swordsman
3 : Crossbowman

These figures are derivated from the miniature "terracotta armiy" from Yang-chia-wan near Sian, wich comprise over 2,000 pottery figurines and is believed to date from the early 2nd century BC.

Spearman and swordsman wear a leather lamellar cuirass tied over the shoulders with cords.
By this time iron was beginning to overtake bronze as the most common metal for weapons as casting techniques improved.
The crossbowman is depicted without armour in order to show the appearance of the ordinary soldier's robe, missile troops could also be armoured.
Crossbows varied in size and draw-weight, and carvings Han period tomb-guardians show that the normal method of cocking the larger ones was still to place both feet on the bow on either side of the stock and pull u the string with two hands, while holding the bolt in the teeth.

Now the Han cavalry

2 : Mounted archer
1 : Lancer

The majority of Han cavalry were probably unarmoured, and both Chinese and "barbarian" allies such as the Wu-huan were skilled archery.

The lancer represents the typical lightly equipped close-combat cavalryman of the Han. A clue to the method of employing the halberd in action is provided by a relief which appears to show a mounted archer being hooked off is horse with the projecting blade.

Northern Sung – 960 -1279
Sung cavalryman
This splendidly equipped cavalryman is based on a Northern Sung painting. His helmet and the horse chamfron are identical to those illustrated in military manuals. The extravagant variety of polearms which was to be characteristic of later Chinese troops – both horse and foot – first began to appear in Sung times.
Cavalry shields – often round – are mentioned in contemporary books, but rarely appear in art.

1 : Ming handgunner - c. 1400
2 : Ming elite troop - Rocketeer - c. 1500

The handgunner can wear an armour concealed under his long robe.
A box or a bag would probably used to carry powder.

The rocketeer wear a Mongol-style leather lamellae armour.
The hand-held rocket launcher is illustrated in several manuals from the 15th century onwards. It could be carried and fired by one man, but had an effective range of less than 200 pace.
They were used in large numbers; the garrison of Hsuan-fu in 1449, for example, had 90,000 rockets available.

The Ming rocketeer and the Ming handgunner could be used as Chinese harquebusier.

Ming Halberdier – c. 1400

Based on drawings in Wu Pei Chi, this figure is probably typical of the infantry of the 14th to 17th centuries.
It is not clear whether such troops would wear soft hat or helmets; the plume often illustrated suggest the latter, but surviving example are lacking.

Ming elite troop : c. 1500
Cavalry trooper
Soldier apparently shown unarmoured in art may have worn coats of brigantine or lamellar armour under their robes.
This man is armed with spear from Wu Pei Chih, but could add or substitute a bow of Mongol type.

1 : Republican Army cavalryman – 1912
This cavalryman wears the old Imperial Army summer uniform with the addition of a star cap badge to replace the Imperial one. His shoulder and collar tabs are in the white of the cavalry. The fearsome sword he carries was much used in China at the time – and for many more years – as a means of keeping order, and the display of a few heads in baskets was a good way to stop any riotous behaviour.

2 : Imperial Army soldier – 1911
This soldier wears the winter version of the uniform in dark blue cotton; he has the red branch colour of the infantry on his cap and shoulder bars. His cap badge is a gold disc with a dragon design on it, and the three red stripes round the side of his hat show his rank.

3 : Warlord soldier – 1916 to 1925
This typical Warlord soldier from the 1920s is wearing a light khaki cotton uniform of the period. His peaked cap has the usual enamel star and his armband shows that he is a soldier of the so-called "Nanking" Warlord, Sun Ch'uan-fang, who was defeated by the Nationalist Northern Expedition in 1927.
The umbrella he carries is one of the most useful parts of his kit to keep both sun and rain off his head. Western observers often ridiculed the Chinese soldiers' use of umbrellas, but for an army with few tents they were often the only shelter available.

4 : Nationalist soldier – Northern Expedition – 1927
This soldier wears a light brown cotton uniform with his unit patch on left breast, and the Nationalist sun emblem on his peaked cap. The Mauser pistol he is armed with was one of the favourite weapons of the Warlord period, and the Nationalist used it for the next 20 years.

I like so much old Crist2000´s mortar. I use it as a “not wheeled” art. unit (the others art. units in my mod are wheeled)

I agree with many of you and I don´t like replace the infantry with MECHs and I updated all my land units with some of the excellent modern units from balou, utahjazz, kinboat... So the mortar still as a unfashionable WWI unit.

Has anyone a modern version?
Is some people working on a new mortar?

i would realy like to see a SDI defense satalite that we can use to blast people because if Ronald Regan's "star wars" defense was compleated, it could be used offensively

Is there a Japanese warrior replacement available that could be used b4 Iron Working?

The warrior monk would be OK except that his staff has a steel blade. If the steel blade were removed it would work well in my mod. But maybe there is already something available?
