Hello everyone, and welcome for a new poll, this time focused on Central Asia !
This time, there'll be no PDF, because I understood no one actually reads it, and so, it will save me some hours of work. For central Asia, we'll go from the east the Caspian sea, to the Himalaya, encompassing Tibet. Don't be surprise to not see the Indus Valley civilization, as the latter is simply unfeasable !

Enjoy it, and see you soon !

I went for a bit of geographical variety here. With Scythia and Mongolia in the game I have no interest in any of the khaganates (particularly the bloodthirsty one of Timur), with the exception of the Khazars. Khazaria would be a nice new early medieval civ, and have a trading focus that distinguishes them from the rest of the horse lords. Come to think of it I'm not sure why the poll has seven separate Mongol/Turkic khaganates, yet lumps in all the non-Mughal Indian civilisations as one option!

On that note, I think the Chola would be my favourite choice for a second civ from the subcontinent - some representation for the Tamils and southern India in general, and you can never have enough naval civs. :)

Lastly, it'll never happen, but Tibet would be an awesome civ, and you could design a very interesting ability around mountains for them.

I would like to see the PDF

Nepal
Tibet (although I feel that with the Potala, Chörten, Songtsen Gampo and Turfan we've seen all that we'll get.)
Timurids (although I don't feel we need another aggressive warmonger right now)

honorable mention to the Ghaznavids
I don't think India should be split up, actually. There are enough reasons for doing it, but it would just set a precedence that I don't like. I count Macedonia as a one-off.

I voted for the Mughals, Khazars and Other. I'd like to either see Crimea or Savafid Persia before any of the other options.

Central Asian Leader ideas (Excluding Chagatai Khanate, Golden Horde, Ilkhanate, And Mughal.)
Ahmad Abdali of Afghanistan
Eucratides of Bactria
Busan of Khazaria
Prithvi Narayan of Nepal
Kurya of the Pecheneg
Gurak of Sogdiana
Parakramabahu of Sri Lanka
Songtsen Gampo of Tibet
Timur of the Timurids
Bayanchur Khan of the Uyghur
(Leaders for other)
Bumin Qaghan of Gokturk
Ablai Khan of Kazakhstan
Mithridates of Parthia
Seleucus I Nicator of The Seleucids
Shaybani Khan of Uzbekistan

I voted for another Indian dynasty (I want the Cholas), Sri Lanka and Tibet (not going to happen).

Cholas-because I want Tamil India represented, and they had interactions with SE Asia
Sri Lanka-because of their role in spreading Buddhism, and interesting ruins
Tibet-because of their unique culture/religion

Honorable mentions: Afghans, Mughals, Nepal, Timurids, Uyghurs

@Liufeng will Eastern Asia include Southeast Asia?

I voted for Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Sogdiana.

Nepal is a good alternative to Tibet. Sri Lanka would be cool and good for representation, but it might blend into the abilities of the khmer or india, so chola might be an alternative with more of a trade / naval focus. Sogdiana would be awesome for not making central asia completely about cavalry, but i guess there is a problem with leaders (Gurak isn't that interesting)

I don't feel the need for three from this region, so I only voted for two:

Sogdia: The quintessential Central Asian Silk Road state.

and

Sri Lanka: Which would be something different from the India region.

Since when is India Central Asian, anyway? Or Tibet, for that matter?
I don't think we need a separate poll for South Asia, but yeah, might have called it Central and South Asia.

I definitely want to see Mughals.

Voted for Timurids and Tibet too. But Nepal instead of Tibet is okay too, though i just want the Mughals from this area.

I voted for the Mughal Empire in this one. It was the richest empire in the world for some time, and Akbar the Great is a nice leader choice. Also, I quite like the Mughal architecture :)

Sorry to hear about the PDFs, I for one liked reading them but I do understand wanting to save some time.

Another Indian dynasty (Chola) - I'd like to see them if possible.
Nepal - Since getting Tibet seems extremely unlikely at best, this one sounds like a good alternative.
Sogdian - They sound pretty unique and Gurak sounds like a fascinating ruler.

I voted for the Afghans and for "Other". As the "other" civ I propose the Uzbeks.

Tibet seems to be the most popular option here. Too bad for South Asia or Central Asia. :undecide:

Also, I don't think Khazaria is possible with the poorly attested Khazar language, unless we use Chuvash again....shudders.....broken Chuvash.....

Tibet would be great; they had a mighty empire once with a puppet ruler installed in China IIRC. But they would never be in the game as they are likely even more controversial than Israel.

I also voted for Khazaria, one of Byzantium's most important and interesting enemies.
