Being able to convert holy cities is a good change for one main reason: I can’t figure out how to tell which cities are holy cities without digging out the religion details menu. It’s annoying. If the are marked on the map in some fashion, I missed it.

I'M confused by this... yes it's bugged... so just don't build it ? I can't fathom not playing only because of this ?
Please Never fix this, it is so fun (Annoying a bit yes but Soo good) Maybe change it to cities only, if you must "Fix" it.

With these changes it’s looking like they’ll be very nearly ready to take it out of early access! Exciting times.

"Holy Cities can be converted" smells of being something that was a "fan request;" and I can't believe people wanted that, and thought that was the big issue with the religion game. Oh well, mostly looks good.
The "Brahmanism" reliquary belief begs to differ (2 relics upon converting a foreign capital) - it's very common for the capital to be a holy city, and this makes this reliquary belief almost worthless based on something entirely out of the player's control. Hard to think that this was intended gameplay; especially in multiplayer, where this can be gamed intentionally to lock the player who chooses this out of the cultural legacy.

Yeah it's a bug the text says +1 population to this settlement, that's how it's balanced vs the other wonders and the rest. If you get a lot of celebrations and this wonder in a city that benefits a lot from extra population, it's great. If it affects all settlements or cities it's completely out of balance and snowballs you into some automatic win (+ has you click a lot of growth in all settlements over a turn repeatedly each celebration). It's like if Oxford University gave you +30 free techs instead of 2 free techs, and 15 wildcard attribute points instead of 1 or so lul.

@SammyKhalifa You might want to edit your post to say that it has already been answered like two dozen times lol.

Moderator Action: I added mod text, will now start infracting people who reply to a post before they finish reading the thread :-) --NZ

I hope you’re right, as they really do need to tweak it so that high culture output makes a difference. Although less than a month does seem to be an awfully short time frame to plan out and fully test an entirely revised victory condition (plus get the AI to understand it).

Their exact statement on the explorer stacks was:

So it could just mean that the AI leaders just stop being foolish about their allocation of resources (buying fewer explorers) and do a better job with unit placement (explorers not all in the same location), but still the same basic idea for the victory condition.

In general, i wouldnt expect major overhauls of stuff before 3 months. Most likely 6 months. Hopefully they are able to get a lot the issues resolved in the first 6 months, and most in the first year. Assuming their post is accurate, UI issues are put first in queue over other stuff. Smaller changes like AI explorers are both good and a way to push overhauling a victory condition down the road imo.

I do agree that making the "Distant Lands" and "Homelands" Relative as opposed to absolute would make sense.
Just have to
1. add some "Treasure" resources in each "Land" that only apply to the other "Lands"
2. have a peaceful way to get Treasure Ships from another civ (I have chocolate in my "Homeland".. I should have a way* to send a Treasure Ship to a civ in my "Distant Lands" so we both get points +$)

That should be all the game balancing necessary..... not sure about the coding to do that.

*maybe needs a Merchant Trade Route, an Endeavor, etc.
Add a regular bonus to those resources when on Homelands would also be good. There's plenty of things to be made, heck, even the return of Pangea would be a welcome thing, split the continent in 2 major continents with 2 sub-continents each.

When I saw this I assumed it was out today. Oh well.

I hope they make it easier to select a commander when it shares a tile. Any two units sharing a tile really.

Also I'm feeling FOMO because I'm not sure what the hub bub about Holy Cites is/was. I'll have to read from the start tomorrow.

April to be able to queue research

....
You forgot to say the game is still in early access

Moderator Action: The game has been released. It may feel to you like early access to you, but please try to be factual. leif

You forgot to say the game is still in early access

Do you haters actually have anything meaningful to contribute or is "you forgot to say the game is still in early access" genuinely the extent of your ability to engage in discourse?

Because trust me. We heard y'all the first five hundred times too.

I'm expressing my disappointment, I don't extend my discourse in every post. My contribution is saying: I expected more. My disappointment will lead in me not buying DLCs which is interesting information for Firaxis

I do think these companies should do real early access to improve the game not 1 week (more than) full price but that's a different topic

Also I don't think hater suits, I am not hating this game, I never said the game was bad, I do think it does good thing and is mostly good, and I have said so already, that doesn't mean I can't be annoyed by stuff like this

I haven't read the whole thread, if other have said so already doesn't mean I can't as well.

Yes it is annoying to read these kind of posts i made, I am sorry for that but i can express what i feel wether positive or negative and I think it's a feedback nonetheless

I don’t get the need to nitpick at every little inconvenience. I’m having just as much fun, possibly more, than I’ve had with any other Civ game ever. Why would I care that I have to choose my technology each time? I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to publicly embarrass myself over it.

I remember major bugs in Civ 4. Back then, we were lucky to get a patch, period. We had to wait until the release of the warlords expansion to get bug fixes.

The fact that we have had three immediate patch releases within days is a sign of goodwill, not a sign of incompetence. There is a major update rolling out to five platforms within a month of release. In the meanwhile, we have a fun and functional game to be playing. Enjoy!

Can't wait for more news on the Crossroads content...

Question about Civ 7 patches: if we're in the middle of a game, will the changes likely be applied to the existing game? I'm trying to decide if I should start a new game this afternoon/evening, or wait 'til Tuesday. I usually play on marathon, so my games last a long time. I really want to make sure the next time I play Modern, the changes to cultural victory have been applied.

I call this the Paradox dilemma. I struggle with this all the time with their games, because it really sucks to get a few hundred years into a campaign and have all your mods broken due to some update.
