Update 1.1.1 Patch Notes - March 25, 2025

I’m guessing that it was that you could double up with Lafayette.
I agree with @Sagax that doubling-up the rebalance was unnecessary. Honestly, they could have made Lafayette's entire cache of abilities revolve around traditions/social policies: +1 Happiness/Culture per social policy slot / per tradition slotted, and that would fix the scaling and make it dynamic. I really had fun with Lafayette, so I'm a tiny bit disappointed!

The town yield bonus nerf is totally uncalled for, and it feels along the same lines as the Majapahit change. Did anyone feel that towns were getting too big for their britches?

That is not happening for me.

I tried disabling all mods and they still look completely horrible. What's your GPU?

That does look horrible - I'm not seeing the same. Running Radeon RX 580 with Vulkan.
I'm using a Radeon RX 6700 XT. I'll try updating drivers and see if that helps.

Maya UQ is less comically broken, but I think it's still pretty OP. I've been pondering the correct number for a while, and I think it would've still been too strong at 3%. The ability may be fundamentally not balanceable with current science scaling, and may eventually need to change to something completely different.

I've been banging the "Majapahit are crazy powerful" drum for a while, and have been confused by that being a relatively rare take. Looks like the devs agreed with me on that one.

Modern age has been the least fun part of the game, but part of that is due to the age pacing making unique civ features irrelevant, which made every modern age feel like the same flavor of vanilla. If extending the age can give some time to actually use unique stuff, that would be a positive for me.

Wow, big nerf to Hawaii.
Yeah, that one feels like overkill.

The +4 on food buildings and +2 on marine was adding up to a lot, but they should have picked one of those, not both. The food on culture is such a poor trade.

Not a fan of how they did Maya change, either. 5% is right for exploration and modern, but it will make it even less impactful in its own age. No other district does that.

Guess more generally, not a fan of balancing only by nerfs. Majapahit for instance was in a good spot, bring weaker civs up to that level instead.

AMD Radeon 9700 XT. Image Sharpness is Very High.

Disabling mods - no change
Updating drivers - no change
Switching from DX12 to Vulkan - no change
Changing image sharpness - no change
Rebooting computer - no change

Any other ideas? I'm confused since you guys both have AMD cards as well.

Anyone have eyes on whether or not the Revenge now has a unique model?
Here's a screenshot from a save load - is it different? I don't remember what the original Battleship model looks like.

EDIT: Normal Battleship for comparison - does look different.

This forum is filled with threads about how terrible towns are. I didn’t necessarily agree, but yeah its pretty surprising to see town strats get nerfed hard. Its like they were reading my posts and said F that guy in particular

Making a boring thing longer doesn't help. Just look at cricket.
You heretic you!! 5 day Test Match cricket is still the best

Do you have Enable High Resolution UI Scaling checked under Accessibility?
Yes, turning it off didn't do anything. It's weird because the resource icons look perfectly fine on every other screen and tooltip.

Have you tried verifying the steam cache? Maybe the transparency layer of the icons got messed up
