Could you check if the mod is activated ?
In the launcher, Community -> Modules -> Mega Civ Pack (square if disabled, triangle if enabled).

Is it possible to replace civ4 leaders with leaders from this mod mod or does it simply add more leaders with no effect on the civ4 leaders?

It adds more leaders and more civilizations, but without replacing existing ones. That is just new content.

So just to be sure, to install just a couple of civs, I still need the 2GB fpk file??

It worked. Thank you for your help, and it was much appreciated. I was too stubborn to forgot to activate the mod.

Yes, because it is more than just a couple of civ. The first part (xml files) contains all text and definitions, but all graphics are contained in the FPK.
There are more than 100 new civs, with 1 to 3 leaders, one unique unit and one unique building. That's a lot of graphics.
Hopefully, maska has gathered them to a FPK which made the game loads noticeably faster.

He did. However since I changed the Hungarian UB, it's art files are outside the fpk.
I plan (or was planning at least) to add some other civs, starting with Slovakia, but I had some problems with the text, so I gave up for a little while.

What kind of problem do you get ?

Game loaded with lots of error, than not displaying descriptions. But I also need to balance/adopt that civ to RAND. I will take care of later, now I want to enjoy the game a little and its new features...

My question, better worded, was: since I am only interested in using a couple of civilizations from the MCP (not all of them), do I have to use the 2GB fpk?

The answer is yes, thanks for the info.

Yes, but the good news is, that fpk stuff is only loaded when needed. So it will cause no performance issues.

Hmm so the game does not load the whole extra 2 gb at each startup?
I'll give it a try then.

From what i understand, the fpk is opened but only the needed part of this archive are loaded on demand.

So I tried the new MCP, and wow, did it load faster than ever! :D

Great work with bringing all those civs up to date with the main mod!

I had a look at the various civs in the civilopedia, and noticed a few minor errors.

Irish: Ringfort still has +1 Trade Route

Albania: Llogor is identical to Garrison (which it replaces). Couldn't see any difference.

Hunns: Tarkan is not cheaper than the unit it replaces, despite what the civilopedia says.

Kanem Bornu: Iron Helm is not cheaper than the unit it replaces, despite what the civilopedia says. Also it has the same strength.

Minoan: Anactora still gives +1 Trade Route

Nigeria: NA Artillery when the civilopedia links to Artillery as the unit it replaces, the link in the text goes to the tech and not the unit

Parthian: Grivpanvar is more expensive than the Rider it replaces, but has the same Strength. Also the standard Rider has +25% against Archery units, the Grivpanvar does not. (this might be intended, I don't know).

Scottish: Broch still gives +1 Trade Route

South Africa: Boer Commando the civilopedia says in the text it gets a free Commando promo, but it doesn't.

West Indies: JDF Engineer the civilopedia says in the text it gets a free Flanking promo, but it doesn't.

Also there was one UU that replaced the Noble Knight which for some reason the civilopedia could not display it's entry, but I didn't write it down and forgot which one it was.

I downloaded the MCP 15/02/15, so says the file creation timestamp.

I'll DL the xml part again, and see if anything changes.

@Noyyau: To complete Sogroon answer, known mods (i mean, even not installed) are now listed in the launcher at "Community -> Modules -> Get modules". It brings you to the website/download page of the mod, including MCP.

EDIT: I have updated the MCP readme to be cleaner.

Here's what I'm doing now:
-downloading again MCP (except the graphics)
-installing it
-start game to see if it works
-update to latest rev
-report if MCP gets deleted or not

Stay tuned ;)
