Updated AND 2.1 Mega Civ Pack

Thanks. I'm aware about the game's capacity to continue. Just wanted to bring that bug report up in case it hadn't been reported. I've returned from being AWOL. So a lot to catch up :lol:. Again, thanks for the zip file.

Well, I'm as interested in the Megapack as anyone else (and was considering working on it myself until Maska stepped up). If I make big changes, I'll try to test them against the pack as well, but actually changing the pack is up to Maska.
 
Is there an update coming for this component? Since trade routes were done away with, many UBs have no upside. Additionally, UUs that replace the Noble Knight, formerly called Mailed Knight, need to be tweaked due to changes in the basic unit.

I think once civic changes are finalized we (45* Vokarya and myself) should review these civs and make them an official, separate download for the mod.

Maska_zgz was already working on it although he's busy now with real life. Also Vokarya was helping him. But I agree this should become an official add-on. We already have dbkblk installer for it, although it's temporarily deactivated.

As 45º said, I'm very busy with work and real life. Anyway, this last week of August I have finally one week vacations, and I will try to update the pack, but I have fear of how many changes will be needed because the updates of AND.

As soon as possible, I will review the updates of AND and compare it to the MegaCivPack.

Someone could tell me if the MCP is very outdated with AND because of the new changes, or not too much? I'm just asking this to know in advance the necessary work.

Hi Maska_zgz, welcome back. I hope you're fine although busy in real life. :)
Most of the changes have been on the dll and shouldn't influence your work too much. Most notable change that might interest you is that Trade Routes have been removed in favour of a "connectedness" feature. Most buildings in AND have been updated in this sense so it shouldn't be too hard to adapt it to MCP. All in all, I don't think it's too terrible to update your pack right now. :)

I think the only real problems are that some of the civics have changed (so the leader favorite civics are wrong/missing) and that some of the UU buildings are now out of date, as the buildings have been rebalanced somewhat.

i've got a problem with audio files :(
i've followed all the installation instructions but the sounds in leader/diplomacy during the game don't work!
i mean, the music when leaders pop-up in screen, or the music when you fly by in the civilizations lands :(
but the original sound of civs and leaders in standard AND works.

i think it is a problem of merging audio file of woc_installer.jar because it detects many errors but i don't know why!
i've followed the installation instructions step by step, for 4 times, deleting old AND files of course, but it doesn't work :(

I committed the first 10 civs. The SmartGit client shows it is done, but I don't see it HERE.
What did I do wrong? :blush:

@sogroon: You don't need to name your commit with a version number. Just comment like you always do and then click on "releases" (in the top bar besides "x commits" "1 branch" ... "2 contributors"). Then you can create a new release with a tag version "1.3.1" and with a title and a description !

As you may have noticed, I am trying not only to update, but to balance the UUs and UBs. I am trying to follow the principles used by Vokarya, however, my changes may be either too much or too little, so I am really curious about others opinions.

I am looking for ways to make a greater variety of replacements. Some units and buildings are used too often (e.g. knights, courthouse), while we have complete lines never used (mobile defense).
I am also trying to follow the "Pretorian rule", when a UU should coexist with its upgrade.

Sogroon, may I ask how do you decide such changes? They're perfectly fine with me but I'd like to understand if you decided them on your own, if you've found similar changes in the original MCP files or what. Just curious; I'm starting to work a bit to help you on MCP and I wanted to make sure I'm using the same general principles you're using. Thank you.

Indonesia to Khazaria are done, I just need dbkblk to allow me to upload.

Still, I'd like to know what are we planning to do with UB and UU. Should they all cost the same that the base default unit/building? And what about commerce/gold/strenght/etc? Should they always be the same as default? I ask because I think I've noticed that some base UB/UU of AND have different values compared to default units/buildings (see Knight/Cataphract/Camel Archer for example).
