Uranium - How to get it?

Hi, I am a newbie and just lost a game where I could not get Uranium to make an ICBM.

I created mines on every tile that had a hill.
I tried trading with with all players - nobody seemed to have it.

I had a pretty decent land mass too.

Is there anything else I could have done to get Uranium?

Thank you!

I already had fission, and the Manhattan Project. As I said I am just a newbie but I believe you need Uranium to make an ICBM right?

Yes, you do. Physics reveals Uranium, and uranium should be scattered across the map at the beginning of the game, if you open your map in World Builder. Did you zoom out in resource mode and see if anybody has uranium? Sometimes you can get lucky and have 3 to 5 uranium mines in your territory and sometimes you won't have anything. Maybe you've just got bad luck...

isn't Uranium needed for Manhattan Project? changed in BTS?

Edit: ok , it is double speed by uranium, but why do u speed hammer buidling it?

You don't necessarily need a local supply of uranium to build an A-bomb. Once you get done with designing and calculating you only need enough uranium to reach "critical mass" and start a chain reaction. You could probably buy this from another country, for a price of course. A local supply of uranium would help a lot, I imagine, because then you can perform experiments on the uranium to understand how it'll behave in a chain reaction, how you'll need to reach "critical mass", etc. It seems realistic to me.

Now ICBMs require uranium, you can't build those without a local supply of uranium because if you ask for some uranium to build an A-bomb with from another country you'll probably receive hysterical laughter.
