v 26, and above ALL Bugs/Crashes reporting thread

svn 3847

keep getting minor civs which should definitely not be minor. in this pic, you can see israel just spawned a vassal civ, a minor state, which we are not at war with, which is researching guilds, so certainly shouldn't be minor.

and congo is still around as a minor, training canal systems.

Presumably REV Python issue. No really my area - leaving this for someone else (I have a huge backlog altready)

If you are using v26? Have you applied the patch found in the Patch thread if you are?
Or are you using the SVN?

Where did you place the Mod? (Directory path please)

What are you computer specs (OS, computer specs:main ram, vid card and vid ram, etc.)?

Are you running the mod as Administrator?

In the Game directory where the BtS .exe resides you will find a file called MiniDump.dmp. Compress it using either .zip, .rar, or 7z and upload as a post attachment by using the Manage attachments thru Advanced button for posting.

There may be other details that will be needed. But this will get the ball rolling.

You really need the patch, if I remember correctly it fixes some big problems.

Fyi SVN = beta version. Many people use it because after the initial time taken to do the download updates are quick. It suffers from all the same problems of all betas in it is not stable but things are fixed there faster than they are in the release cycle.

You'er saying you have a dump on the latest SVN? Have you looked into it? I'm backlogged - will be day or two before I can I think (is it posted somewhere -the dump from latest SVN that is?)

Yes, it crashed for me in the latest SVN during map generation. I looked at the dump and it's an unhandled access violation in the function CvPlot::isVisible when returning the getVisibilityCount or the getStolenVisibilityCount. For some reason it seems to have a debug variable set to true, even though it's a FINAL_RELEASE DLL. I can't make heads or tails of it, but I'm 99% sure that it's Viewport related. I've attached the new dump (from rev 3848).

I see no attachment - where? Also what is the recipe to reproduce this since I'll probably have to walk through it.

It should be there now, sorry. It happens for me either during the generation of a Gigantic PW3 map with standard settings and Start in New World, or after the generation of such a map (when all of the terrain is black, like in Shenryyr's vid) if I try and go to the Military Advisor. Either way the dumps read the same.

Global warming seems to be happening too early- we are the first civ to reach industrialism(about 10 turns ago) and have only built 1 factory. None of our cities are above size 36... what is causing global warming in 1200bc? we have 9.6 million people in our civ, the world has 12.3 million total. this seems a bit weird

ori Originally coded the Global Warming events, He perhaps could have coded them with thresholds that were too low. Thanks for reporting this, otherwise It may have gone unnoticed for a long time, not many of us make it to the Industrial Era.

well the weird thing is in my carthage game on immortal, i'm at around 150AD in modern era and have not occurred any global warming events, even with 10billion people on the planet, 30+ factories, 30+ power plants, etc... is GW affected by difficulty level?

Pls, fix this befor v27, it's reall annoying because you are not in war with them and cant diplomacy, so you cant attack them at all...

Another bugs, from AI : they star a lot of wordman, but stop them to build ... another swordman. I dont think it's the more effective way to have a bug army.

I don't understand what you mean here. The image shows a stream of swordsmen with a worker in the middle. What do you mean by stopping building swordsmen to build another swordsman?

Sorry, bad capture.
All swordman except the first have 7 turn left and are built at nearly 12% (100 on 600) ; the 7 is in blue saying some production was already used.
Look like for lot of time, AI start building a swordman, wait 2 turn, and put in the line, before, another wordman. And again, and again...

So, he have lot of 12% built swordman (5 in this cities, more in some others).

Sorry, hard for me to explain this in English

Ok, I understand now. I'll look into it.

I think the automated houses buildings might have a bug here- we just researched communism, and now all my cities are building homeless housing every single turn. in every city, every turn.

the only wonder that completed recently is the lotus temple, so other than that, I can't think of anything besides a recent tech that finished that might be the cause. anyway, here's some pics

Do they still have the other housing line buildings, or are they reverting to JUST homeless?

I don't really know how all that works. I think housing all show up in the 'special' tab, but all I can see is Frat House. So maybe all the housing is being destroyed?

http://i45.tinypic.com/2h72fev.jpg

It sounds like the requirements for the other housing line buildings are no longer met for some reason. Do you know what buildings in the housing line you had on the previous turn?
