v 26, and above ALL Bugs/Crashes reporting thread

Yeah, I am aware of this. I am trying to think of a solution without having tho remove or change those buildings.

They are using the Autobuild tag right? If so, then just make them have a tech prereq (tribalism?), that way they won't make the early game unplayable.

That would be fairly pointless, since at tribalism you will always have at least one building that will replace homelessness anyway. Just take the unhappy off them and leave it at unhealthy maybe? (at least off the pest)

I modified how culture is represented on tiles, so maybe I screwed something up, though it seemed to be working ok in my tests. You just loaded an old game and the culture was all gone right?

not exactly. I was playing a game for a while and it crashed(non-maf). so I loaded the autosave and all culture was gone from the entire map for every civ. so I loaded a couple older autosaves and the same thing.

also, I loaded an old carthage game (everything looked fine, culture-wise)and after applying the svn updates in game, then saving, then loading the save, now it too has the same problem of no culture anywhere in the world.

this savefile loads improperly, or at least the culture is all messed up lol. this is in svn 3832

Doh! It IS my screw up - the save routine for plots has screwed up (removed) culture, so anything saved since yesterday is trashed. Older saves load fine, but as soon as you save from the newer version the save is screwed. Fix incoming shortly.

I have a bit of a bug where occasionally when a new turn starts and after I move my first (any) unit - it continues to select this unit.
As in the game does not cycle through active units once one is done.
This can be circumvented by pressing (w) wait, but its still a pain.

The problem goes away once I save and reload though, so its no real biggie, just thought it was worth a mention. I don't think there is any point posting a save since its not really repeatable, it just randomly happens like every 30 turns or something.

Hasn't happened to me (yet) *crosses fingers and toes*

That looks suspiciously like the AI issue I was seeing with Pillage units in my old game, before all of my civ files vanished in a poof of fuzzy logic. Please post a save with this in the bugs/crashes thread, and Koshling or myself can take a look at it.

OK here is current game with BBAI logs etc. Ref: Ambusher

EDIT: On same save: The Barbarian Cities just stay at POP 1 again????

Ok, I managed to update it for real this time... but it isn't the latest for some reason, it's 3802.

If you are getting your "version" from inside the game by hovering over the flag, it is because that simply reports the dll version. The "real" version is found by right clicking your svn folder (not your game mod folder, so if you keep them separate like you should the working version will be different from your updated version*) and choose the "Properties>Subversion" tab.

*I zip all my revisions before copying them to the mods folder and rename the zipped files to the SVN version, so I always know what version my working copy is

I believe with the change it has both on it, i might be wrong . . .

The game I'm currently playing after updating this morning (3844) says 3842, so I know it doesn't report minor revision changes when you hover over the flag.

There are two revs reported in that hover:

  • The Rev of the DLL (which is the last rev that changed the DLL and may be lower than the rev you have since later revs may not have changed the DLL, just the XML)
  • The Rev of the DLL that saved the currently loaded game (i.e. - the save format it used essentially)

svn 3837

repeatable non-maf crash during end of turn. load the save, spend one great merchant on partly training patent rights. buy congress of vienna in ngapuhi, buy wall street in para. end turn. crash.

edit:
went back to the autosave on previous turn, bought congress of vienna, end turn, crash. could be that building causing issue?

@Koshling:

Here's that dump I was talking about.

Oh, sorry, that was in the Youtube thread, about the issues with Viewports and startup. I said it normally crashed for me and I'd try and get a dump from it. Also, it's not the most recent SVN, it's from yesterday I think. Also, sourceforge is down for me, so that is an issue for the SVN.

Bumping this crash, as now on the most recent SVN it's happening during map generation, not afterwards.

You'er saying you have a dump on the latest SVN? Have you looked into it? I'm backlogged - will be day or two before I can I think (is it posted somewhere -the dump from latest SVN that is?)
