v21 bugs and crashes

I have a unit that i wanted to go NW, but instead took a weird move and went south, see attached?? Even when i tried to GO NW, he just refused.:crazyeye:

SVN 2074

Looks like something in the city, a unit or building, is exerting a Zone of Control (ZoC) which means you can't move from a plot next to it to another plot next to it unless you move away first.

I think we need to figure out some way of showing this and the "must reduce defence to zero". I would suggest replacing that "rook" icon. Have the rook before the defence value if no ZoC or D2Z then one each for ZoC and D2Z plus one more for both.

Need a new icon in the fonts and changes to the interface to show it.

Hmm. Is it intended that;
1. Once Foundry can be built new cities can't build Forge and thus can not ever build Armourer, Bronzesmith, Coppersmith, Goldsmith, Guild Hall, Ironsmith, Townclock (and subsequently Automation Clock with Clockpunk), and The Colossus (less important I suppose, should have been built by then)?
2. After having built Foundry in any city if a mining resource pops you still can't build the respective smith building for it as it requires Forge?
3. Opera House with ClockPunk can be replaced by Orchestrion Theater and thus make Sydney Opera House and Modern Art Theatre impossible to build as well as having to build Bolshoi before upgrading the city's Opera House with Orchestrion Theater?

Cheers

Ok i fixed the forge/foundry problem but I cannot figure out a solution for the Opera House. So I guess for now you will have to choose between building the Orchestrion Theater or Modern Art Theatre and Sydney Opera House.

Latest SVN: getting an error message when I try to go into the City Advisor (F1) screen. Here's the message I am getting and a save game for when it happens; I get the error if I hit F1 immediately after loading.

Hi, I'm suddenly getting a CTD a few seconds after I press "end turn" in this game (save attached). It does not happen with the saves from previous turns, it just started now.

I'm not sure what could be happening, I tried several times changing small things in the build queues and unit movements to make sure I wasn't doing anything "weird", but I still get the CTD.

Could you please look into it?

Thank you

Hi Lunfa reo,
There should be a minidump.dmp file in your Beyond the Sword folder, where the BTS.exe would be. Find that minidump and please upload it. That way they can look at exactly what went wrong during the crash.

Very questionable AI behavior in this saved game. I came across two unaccompanied Great Generals in neutral territory. They're almost due east of Ur. Can you let me know what's causing this?

any luck yet in getting the Seal and Walrus, as well as the Mammoth resource to place correctly? As it is now, I go into WB before starting and place them around the tundra in the north and south so their are some out there.

I get them all the time. Coastal north polar for walrus and coastal polar and single plot island for seals. Not all plots. I use Tectonics map generator.

CTD no warning or messages

Latest SVN: getting an error message when I try to go into the City Advisor (F1) screen. Here's the message I am getting and a save game for when it happens; I get the error if I hit F1 immediately after loading.

I get the same error and I tried a quick fix in the python but it did not work.

CTD at start with SVN 2077, without message, before turn 1 and after step customized game. Cannot start game.
I load a MiniDump.dmp I find in my Beyond the Sword folder, where the BTS.exe is.
Hope you can help me. :goodjob:

If it WAS, ZOC, then how come it happens to "my" own city for "my" own troops??

Can't move boat into upper plots for some reason...

->savegame<-

Same problem like SO has with nearby city - route shows that I can't move archer to the city from nearby plot, but if I click it actually does. Unlike the boat which can't move.

Work boats aren't allowed to reveal map, which it would do if it moved to that plot. It stops the AI sending out lots of work boats to explore only to have them eaten by sea life. It has been this way since RoM. ;)

Got it, just never tried to move work boat without escort before :)

The reason for that error is that some building class info has an empty or missing Type.
All who recently added building class infos should check them.

Sorry, my bad!

This is crashing inside the Python DLL. At a guess I'd say its related the the XML error thats causing the Python warnings that AIOAndy just posted in response to.
