(already post one in #300 of this thread but it seem it has been forgotten)

I need to know which version of the DLL this is from (SVN revision or release version) in order to be able to deciode the minidump please.

from SVN 2407

The minidump doesn't read with that revision of the DLL - are you certain it was 2407?

I check it ingame on the civ flag but (perhaps another bug ??) this number is different from the one in the SVN software

So i update my SVN and recreate the CDT

For this new minidump on software it's revision 2413 and on my civ flag it's 2410

I am getting a crash to desktop when I end the current turn of the attached save game. It's not an immediate crash, but it is while the AI turn is processing (I think). I have updated my SVN to the latest version, and it is still crashing. I've attached the save game and the minidump file.

I dunno what to do then ... Maybe install Windows7 64 bit as another boot option, install civ under it and see if it helps?

Or am i pressing game/system memory boundaries even with my rig setup (core2duo8400, 8Gb ram, 6870 ATI video)?

Is it possible AT ALL playing GEM or gigantic maps at industrial era without MAFs every 3-4 turns?

If you are running 32-bit and haven't activated PAE you can't really use all of your 8 GB RAM. Even with the /3GB switch. You'll only have something like 3.2 to 3.4 GB total available memory. The rest is simply not accessed or used in any way (apart from ~700MB reserved for something or other). So around 2.7GB crash test dummy sounds about right if you are running other applications at the same time.
Even with PAE activated it won't help much. A little but not much.

Installing a secondary 64-bit version for C2C gaming would be worth it. You can use the same licence key as for your 32-bit so won't cost you more than the space needed on your drives to do this.

Cheers

Is it my imagination or is it something new in svn or whats going on, how come alot of my cities now are shrinking even tho they have surplus food?
Spoiler :

I see exactly the same thing, look at Brundisium in the attached save. There is plenty of food but the city still starves.
This is with the current SVN version 2415.

Ok, that worked.

I can see what is wrong, but not why it is happening.

This is moving a unit immediately after starting a game?? Could you do the following please:

1) Start in the sme way but immediately save the game WITHOUT attempting to move the unit
2) Load from that save and THEN try to move the unit. If it still crashes post the save game for me to look at.

What type of unit is it?

BTW - the rev the flag displays is the rev of the DLL build. Since the DLL doesn't chnage on every SVN revision it won't necessarily be the SVN rev that you installed from. However, it DOES identify the version of the DLL which is what is needed for minidumps.

Looks like a fairly obvious bug from the minidump. I'll verify I can reproduce the crash first then fix it. Expect a fix later today.

I followed your instruction and it still crash

Here's an new minidump (build 2410) and the save

It's a new game and I was trying to move the stonethrower, but in later games it appends with different kind (melee, archery, ships, workers, GP).
In fact, since this bug appears (1 week or so) i don't remember having on my first turn after starting C2C a move that don't make it crash.
To avoid it I save at the end of a turn or I use the keyboard to make the moves

Thanks for reply. I am using 64 bit Vista atm, i wrote it. My post was regarding possible memory handling by Vista and win7, so that win7 might somehow fix errors occuring in vista64

Can't figure this one out from the minidump I'm afraid. Will need a save game and instructions that reproduce it.

this is really getting wierd, i went back to ALL the savedgames and it said "I was defeated."HUH! Plus it said that the name was Cyrus i was using, which i used Nazi Himmler LH?

Luckily i manually saved a few game, but now i cant get anything to happen as a CTD:crazyeye:

I get the Rev (2nd pic) to stop by at the same turn it happens, to re-load the saved game fro that point, that way no Rev occurs.

EDIT: Even getting weirder. i let it go this time for the Rev, it defeated that Hunter, but then the game had a bubbling sound then stop then again, but the game froze and i had to Alt/Ctrl/Delete.

OK tried again to go back and get the autosaved game but it came back again (see pic 3) then pic 4

Going to try the manual one again??

EDIT EDIT: OK there has to be something "seriously" wrong with the Revolution settings. I cant ge it to repeat, not even a Rev happens when i try to get a saved game, then when i do i get you are defeated again??

Try it for 5 turns and see??
