For the CDT on first turn after starting C2C while moving one unit here's a minidump
(already post one in #300 of this thread but it seem it has been forgotten)
I need to know which version of the DLL this is from (SVN revision or release version) in order to be able to deciode the minidump please.
from SVN 2407
The minidump doesn't read with that revision of the DLL - are you certain it was 2407?
I dunno what to do then ... Maybe install Windows7 64 bit as another boot option, install civ under it and see if it helps?
Or am i pressing game/system memory boundaries even with my rig setup (core2duo8400, 8Gb ram, 6870 ATI video)?
Is it possible AT ALL playing GEM or gigantic maps at industrial era without MAFs every 3-4 turns?
On that last upload of Promotions, they all come out pink??
Are you sure you copied the new art/interface folder across from the SVN?
I don't get that but the "Nomads" unit category is in Pink.
That is because I asked for one but did not get an icon & forgot about it.
I see exactly the same thing, look at Brundisium in the attached save. There is plenty of food but the city still starves. Is it my imagination or is it something new in svn or whats going on, how come alot of my cities now are shrinking even tho they have surplus food?
Spoiler :![]()
I check it ingame on the civ flag but (perhaps another bug ??) this number is different from the one in the SVN software
So i update my SVN and recreate the CDT
For this new minidump on software it's revision 2413 and on my civ flag it's 2410
I am getting a crash to desktop when I end the current turn of the attached save game. It's not an immediate crash, but it is while the AI turn is processing (I think). I have updated my SVN to the latest version, and it is still crashing. I've attached the save game and the minidump file.
Svn 2415
Ok, that worked.
I can see what is wrong, but not why it is happening.
This is moving a unit immediately after starting a game?? Could you do the following please:
1) Start in the sme way but immediately save the game WITHOUT attempting to move the unit
2) Load from that save and THEN try to move the unit. If it still crashes post the save game for me to look at.
What type of unit is it?
If you are running 32-bit and haven't activated PAE you can't really use all of your 8 GB RAM. Even with the /3GB switch. You'll only have something like 3.2 to 3.4 GB total available memory. The rest is simply not accessed or used in any way (apart from ~700MB reserved for something or other). So around 2.7GB crash test dummy sounds about right if you are running other applications at the same time.
Even with PAE activated it won't help much. A little but not much.
Installing a secondary 64-bit version for C2C gaming would be worth it. You can use the same licence key as for your 32-bit so won't cost you more than the space needed on your drives to do this.
Cheers
Can't figure this one out from the minidump I'm afraid. Will need a save game and instructions that reproduce it.
