This match up has historical significance in the battle for Constantinople/Istanbul, Turkey (inspired by the book 1453 detailing Islamic forces and Christian forces battling over Istanbul.

How do each civ's abilities and unique units/buildings antagonize those of the other two civilizations?

I figure the Turks can turn the Venetian boats against Venice itself. Very economical versus building more ships. Venice and the Turks could have a prolonged war while Constantinope/Byzantine builds up religious fervor.

The Ottomans will probably prevail against all. They can take both Venetian boats and Byzantine boats. The Cataphract will dominate on land until the Jannisary and Sipahi show up and the Byzantines will lose allies at the hands of Venice, helping to marginalize them (Venice will also have more money, so they'll depend on that).

Oh please Byzantium will crush all. Venice and Ottomans will be utterly defeated.

I'd say Enrico would be immune to Theodora if you know what I mean :mischief:
Who do you think Enrico guards favour a decrepit old man or a young lush beautiful woman. I am sure the guards will do a few favours for her. :backstab::mwaha:

He strikes me as a diabolical planner. His guards would be eunuchs if he were meeting with a beautiful woman.

I'm team Byzantium!

Team Rome!!! Oh...

A lot of rebels feuding in the Eastern half of the Empire I see :p

You want to hear how Enrico thought of eunuch guards. His last batch of guards had their b*lls burned off by dromons so he thought his new guards might want to save some pain, except Theodora ain't aiming there now.

The Turks will dominate the seas early. Then Jannisaries and Sipahis will let the Turks dominate the land for a time.
Byzantium could found a religion made entirely for war and use the hell out of their cataphracts while they can.
Venice's UU will make life difficult for Byzantium on the seas but the Turks can balance that out with their sheer numbers.

while turks has many CS allies, venetian uses their uu and turn the turk's allies to puppets city

The Venitians prepare for a first assult at night, and storm Galata just to annoy their Genoan neighbours. Theodora, still assuming that it is day, commands her army to attack. Enrico Dandolo charges towards Theodora, madly swinging his word and swearing in Venitian. With just one thrust of his blade, the Doge of Venice kills the Emperess of Byzantium. The Ottoman Empire, siesing their opportunity, send about a million ships into Constantanople, instantly killing everyone. The Sipahis and Jannisaries then destroy everything else that dared move.

While all this is going on, Gandhi is happily nuking everyone.

Byzantium IS Rome. I'd hardly call Byzantium "rebels"....

Eh, I'd say that Byzantium definitely has the advantages in the water.

Dromons easily beat a fleet of Triremes. Dromons attack ranged (so they don't take damage) and can concentrate their fire better. Not to mention they naturally have +50% against Naval. So they can easily trash an Ottoman fleet.

Venetian Great Galleas might be strong, but those Venetian units will be green, while the Byzantines can upgrade their Dromons and I would probably take normal Galleas' with +1 range or logistics, over a new Great Galleas.

Given that Theodora was around six centuries before Enrico, I'd suggest that the age difference would be insurmountable ;).

Thankfully Theodora is unable to age for she is foreverly youthful. And I am sure she can show real Greek fire:groucho:

Please. Venice was Byzantium's colony, for goodness sake. The Venetians are easily out!

But as both am Ottomanophile and a Byzantophile, my loyalties are split...

Man, what were you doing on 1204? You missed a lot of cool stuff.

I can imagine this.

Enrico - Don't mind me guys, I have just a tiiiiny civilization, fight each other, I'll not interrupt.
Suleiman - BY MY BEARD AND BELLY, this guy seems like no threat to me. I have a cooler hat, and a cooler robe. And I have a bigger beard. Anyway-
Theodora - All you men are the same, either cowards or overzealous beard fanatics! Prepare to die, Sully!

Byzantium and Ottomans fight, meanwhile Enrico gets two nearby city states, and then after telling his proud people "YOLO" to prepare them for the war, sneakily attacks Byzantium, snatches most of its defenseless cities, and then finishes off the weakened Sully-man with vicious abandon.
