Version 2.7 bug reports and feedback

It may be the amount of logging that is turned on by default.
If you mean BtS logging system, RoM doesn't affect it at all as it's controlled in CivilizationIV.ini. RoM's BUg mod is set to log only info and debug level python and this leads roughly to 2MB python log in 50% game length if revolution components are on. If you got those huge messagelogs in BtS logs folder, disable BtS logging systems from the said ini file.

a problem with the boats being able to cross water is that on GEM and other earth maps there is normally only one tile of ocean between iceland/greenland and siberia/alaska so it makes getting to and from the new world in the early ages much easier.

2. I guess I missed that update, will have to add it in v2.72.
And my gamefonts too please. I missed the update by only a couple of hours

Anyway I'll try to add good variety of load controls for different subfolders (requests for subfolder names accepted) so that we can keep conflict amount in minimum.

Well, kinda saw this coming, so I dug in on the Modules/Projects/Vincentz path where all my mods are gathered now. Hope I can get this path MLF'ed in "vanilla" RoM. BTW : Thanks to Afforess for making a quick fix. I'll use it when uploading an update for Vincentz Mods, so if you (Afforess/Zappara) are updating its not necessary to include my mods in it anymore :)

No, I was getting many logs and a couple of them were very big with 2.7 but now with 2.71 I am getting far fewer and none of them are exceptionally large. I neither turned any off nor changed the civilization.ini file.

All my triremes now stay in port. At least the barbarians seem to have the same problem, they were bad enough before :). You used to be able to sail safely in oceans if they were within your cultural boarder, now you can't without sinking. It makes defending that fish resource very difficult:lol:. I think it maybe time to go back to using work boats for exploration since they don't have the storm problems:mischief:

Workboats can't explore outside your cultural borders. Naval exploration is possible before Medieval era, just very dangerous. ;)

I am currently playing my first game with version 2.71. When I build a chariot, there are no unit action/ promotion buttons at the bottom of the screen and scrolling the map is suddenly very slow. Can someone explain this?

My chariots create 2 game problems. 1) when they are selected, the game becomes very slow. 2) the interface changes. I am not able to control them normally through the GUI, although keyboard commands work as normal.

I saved this game with the problem. In this specific turn, one of my chariots has taken on the GUI commands of a settler!

I have a slight problem, nothing gameplay wise, but every civ has the same background music, I always change a few things in globaldefines to my taste, but can't think of anything I would have done that would effect that, and moved a few modules that came with the download into the loaded modules folder, but otherwise no changes...so I'm not sure why the civs all like the same music now...lol, sounds like maybe ancient China music or something.....anyone have an idea 'bout it?

This problem comes with the version of "Realistic Diplomacy" supplied with 2.71. There is a fix if Afordess' threads in the RoM Mods forum. See [Modular] Realistic Diplomacy

I'm playing ver. 2.71 with a Huge Smartmap custom game. I haven't reached chariots yet so I can't say anything about that, but I can tell you that the wonder movies are not playing (I just get a screen of horizontal static where the movie should be). I had that same problem with ver. 2.70. I am playing with no added modmods, just the basic ROM.

Also, when I tried adding the the megapack to my first download of 2.71, it would not work for me. During loading of a custom game, I got several error messages about an XML problem with the Sioux. And then further on in the loading process a runtime error caused a CTD. Again this was with no other added mods to the basic 2.71 ROM.

I'm sorry Zap.I use xp, ROM 2.71,and played an antartics scenario, epic, warlord, aggressive AI, and revolution turned on, yesterday. Then i got a CTD at 680bc.Do you think revolution is the one that cause this??

In ROM 2.71, on Earth 2 map, all of my plains river terrain is plains with flood plains!

EDIT: NM, I see that this was actually intended in 2.71. WOW, it just makes for some silly fast starts, lol!

Blue Senshi,

SmartMap's script is probably the problem. I've played it on previous versions and it does some strange things. I don't know if the current version has been updated for the Official 3.19 Patch either.

As for the Mega Pack, I don't use it so sorry no help there. :(

I'm sorry to hear Smartmap has problems. This is the first time I'm using it and it is certainly creating an interesting map. I wasn't getting wonder movies with ver. 2.70 either but I was using a PerfectWorld map in that game. I had other mods added to the basic mod in that game as well so I wasn't sure what was causing the problem there.
