VoxPopuli Modpacks (Update: 4.21.1)

I use these Mods. Any experience with them not being compatible in MP?

Just my personal anecdote. But playing with the most recent big pack, 2 human players, 8 ai, 24 city states, large map on milaes map. Turn 200 and not a single crash or issue.

If you go until the end of the game please tell us how it is going :)
Absolutely will do. We will pickup that game again later this week. We notice loading saves often lead to crashes. Even with cleared cache.

Also. I noticed my buddie doesny have the force resync button. But i do. Same download. Any ides why that may be?

Only the host has the force resync button ;)

@Agiwan noob question here what about the performance side? (ram consumed stuff like this) theres is diference play whit modpack on the root dir game X play loading the mods in documents etc?

Understood this might not be the right thread for such a thought, but I want to express my deepest appreciation for all of those involved in the Community Patch / Vox Populi effort. I'm on turn 350 of my first game (Rome TSL) and having as much fun as Civ II or SMAC (yes, I'm old).

hi folks,

bummed out from civ7, decided to try the latest vox.

maybe you kind people can fill me in some:
1. if i wanna play the very basic modpack (i prefer to use modpacks and not installer mods wise).
which package should i use?
i think i used one now with squads and UI - Promotion Tree for VP (v 24) and (3a) VP - EUI Compatibility Files (v 1).
2. what is the difference between (2) Vox Populi (v 17)and (1) Community Patch (v 143)?
3. are there any critical bugs for 4.21? maybe i should try 4.20 first?
4. mp i know is of an issue sometimes, lets say i use basic core modpack ( i guess -> (2) Vox Populi (v 17)and (1) Community Patch (v 143) only?)
should it be safe for MP?

anything else is most welcomed.
thank you for your work on this , be blessed.

Hi Keldath,

For the first question you can use the one you prefer on the first page of this thread, EUI ones have a better UI but can crash in late game due to memory constrain (you will have to downgrade the graphics or zoom more to avoid the crashes)
For the second question the (2) Vox Populi (v 17) has all the gameplay changes of vox populi, and the (1) Community Patch (v 143) has the core changes for the AI (I simplify a lot)
Fot the third one: 4.21 is good to go, better then the 4.20.
For the fourth question I think you should use a Modpack without EUI because EUI can causes memory crashes in late game and it's even less fun to have to reload a multiplayer game, and do not use the CP one as all the good gameplay changes from VoxPopuli will not be there.

And welcome ! :)

HI @Agiwan
thank you for the full reply, much appreciated .

so,
if i were to go strickly on safety and stability,
i should go with 4.21.1_VP.zip/ 4.21_VP.zip according to your answer.

or create a pack only with
Vox Populi (v 17)
Community Patch (v 143)

thanks again :)

Even the bigpack is really stable to be honest :)
