VQ04 - Revenge!

opps, I am sorry, I assume ICMBs can be moved ... never use them before. Plus, the stats says: movement 1 for ICMB?

Guess I have screwe dup on the massive ICMB builds ... and to think I painstakingly change each city to bulild ICMB, and then painstakingly gold-rushed each ICMB, and when I pressed enter, have to painstaking set the cities back to research again ... all for nothing :aargh: and most of them aren't even in the range to nuke Hatty's cities .... :crazyeye:

Maquis, you have a choice though ... spend 20 turns to amass 20 more ICMBs, I think we could fund a 1-turn ICMB build even though the cost would be significantly higher than a 2 turns build, if all cities go for wealth production ....

:)

Or, heck it ... just press Ctrl-W and ...

Of course, Nukes would be ok if you did this with them ...

There are some other ideas (using the 'pause' feature) in the thread I linked to above that may be just as fun ...

The "I Love Nara" Save finish!

Turn 0 -- 1928 AD

Ok, as typical GreyFox does a lousy job and I have to clean it up ;)

I upgrade all Warriors (er, 1) to Infanty
I upgrade all Archery (10) to Infantry
I merge the Great Scientist with Rome
I upgrade 2 Muskets to Infantry
I upgrade 5 Longbow to Infantry
I upgrade 4 rifle to Infantry
I upgrade a Knight to Gunship
I upgrade a cannon to artillery
I upgrade 3 praets to Infantry
I upgrade 2 spear to Infantry
I upgrade 1 grenadier to Infantry
I upgrade 1 pike to Infantry
I upgrade 9 machine guns to SAM Infantry

I find a rifle I can't upgrade and disband it :mischief:

I upgrade a rifle to infantry

Now doesn't that look cleaner?

Why are all these cities spending on research for?

I build a jail in Antium
Duct in Cumae
Colosseum in Cumae
Walls in Nottingham
Observatory in York
Colosseum in London
Walls in Edo
Airport in Tokyo
Walls in Osaka
Jail in Satsuma
University in Nara
Bunker in Kyoto
Hindu Temple in Atlanta
Confused Temple in Portland
Grocer in Boston
Confused Temple in New York

I get bored with building new stuff (plus we're running out of cash :crazyeye: )

Culture to 100%, and switch research to Communism for State Property. Due in 14.

 Before I hit Enter, I notice this:

We're about to lose our sub

With a heavy heart, I hit ENTER

Turn 1 -- 1929 AD

Chicago needs a new building:

I choose to do so at the next opportunity.

Elephantine similarly needs a Courthouse.

Indeed ... :mischief: ... it's actually one of the reasons I'm cutting back on my games, so I have more time for comprehensive reporting.

Congratulations, we are Augustus ...

NO, ITS JULIUS!!!

 I was thinking the same thing!

Nice job on finishing the game and getting our revenge. :D

I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of the great nuclear explosion in the city of Nara.

Nice finish, but I want to see a nuke

Patience... you shall get your wish. I will be posting the "I hate Nara" finish tonight.

(Actually, I would have posted it sooner, but Greyfox left it n a situation that I needed a little "creativity" with the ICBMs....)

Ok, the reason I did not post earlier is, I was unable to do what I wanted.

First off, an ICBM can't be moved, and it doesn't appear you can set it to go to a rally point once built (a rally point can't be in a city) So I couldn't get a stack of nukes :(

Second off, and I'm sure a certain VQ'er won't like to hear it, but Nara can't be nuked! Must be because we had culture there or something... oh well. I can still leave you with a couple of good screenies...

The attack on El-Armanra:

DON"T LOOK AT THE FLASH!!!

And...

shroom9bc.jpg

Send in the troops to lock it up, and there you have it. An unsuspensful, however satisfying conculsion!

Great game all! Revenge is sweet!!

Now, on to the SGOTM!!

Spoiler :

Hmm, so you read this huh? Well, here's what we would have like to see if we were able to amass enough nukes...

Ouch.... that has to sting!

Ah the sweet smell of plutonium...

"...with a tear in his eye, OBJ still clasps to his rusty old sword. He knows he isn't what he once was, but the spirit is still willing. He acts out a fighting seen as if he was still a glorious Roman soldier, fighting to the end against Vicky... But the battle is over. As he places the sword back on the old wooden rack, a smile emerges. He knew they would do it; he knew they'd come back and be victorious. Now he can rest in peace..."

Good Job Guys!!
