War Hammer 40,000 Mod

Ok. I've done some research in my ork books (The latest 2 40K codicies, and the 2 gorkamorka books.) Let me just pour out some information:

Ork Clans:

Bad Moons
Their teef grow faster (so they are rich), and are the merchant class. They like having cunning wargear, and there are a higher proportion of Weirdboyz (think crazy wizards) in the Bad Moon Clan. Wear bright colours.
Probably militeristic, commercial, maybe weridboy UU.
Leader Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub.

Deathskulls
Very superstitious, and like looting. Very skilled mekboys. They're guns are often many guns bolted together. Like blue.
I'd go for milteristic, religious. Loota UU with enslave to a unit which upgrades to flash gitz.

Snakebites
Very old fashioned - only reluctantly use technology.
Militeristic, and... err... agriculural? Boarboy UU.

Blood Axes
These guys are Orks wiv strategy. They have even been known to retreat! (Side note: maybe no ork units tagged as fast, except blood axes?). They are also the clan most likey to use imperial vehicles, captured or traded, and such un-orky stuff like camouflage.
Militeristic, industrious? Able to build imperial vehicles at a higher price, maybe with lower stats (rather than a UU).

Goffs
Proper orks. Specialists in hand to hand combat. Wear black.
Militeristic, militeristic.... (I can't think of any other trait). Stormboyz UU, or Skarboyz (or both)
I'd go for Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka as warlord... (maybe a cool king unit with makari - the super lucky grot)

Evil Sunz
They love fast things. The faster the better. They have many mekboyz, and lots of bikes. Wear yellow.
Militeristic, industrious - maybe with a faster bike as a UU.

These traits, UUs, colours, and leaders are just suggestions. There are more special characters which could be leaders, but none are warbosses.

*Singing*Ghazghkull isn't on the Planet! HEY HEY HEY! Ghazghkull Ain't Here! NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY!

Otherwise thoes are very good. I have a second trait ider fer dem Goffy Orks. Howaboots expansionistic? That Also might work for de Evil Suns

Good idea - I forgot about expansionist!

I updated the lists I posted fer dem Goffy Orks. Increased the MGLs from 5 to 10 and the SGLs (Pfha!) from 3 to 5. And I replaced Frumpapple or whatever it was.

I think it would be a good idea to edit the first post and using it as a kind of knowledge base. For all those things that should be in the mod. Like only one planet, planed civs, etc.

So it would be easier to plan a tech tree.

I hope it is clear what i mean, i am a bit out of trainingwith my English. ;)

Thats a good Idea... but we're still working out all that

By the way, I just made a nice little story for us. Tell me what you think.

Somewhere and Somewhen small bands of the major races of the Galaxy were plucked from various times and places of the 41st millenium. They remereged on a planet on a distant part of the universe. Old allainces mean nothing yet ancient hatreds die hard. With no hope of reaching or even contacting home, the castaways are forced to forge New Empires.

Also I've ran into a dumb problem. The Editor doesn't seem to like dates higher than 10000. So I just set the starting year to '1 AD' for now, since I figure that with everbody so far away from the Warhammer Galaxy they'd just figure 'To heck with it!' and start over :p

Just call the AD 'After Descent' (to the planet surface) :)

As for the story, just have small bands of ships plucked out of warp-space, either by warp-storms or the forces of Chaos, and dumped in orbit around an unsettled planet with most of their ships' systems fried.

Warp travel is soooo dangerous anyway - you can never tell if you'll emerge where you expect ;) ... if at all

Sounds good, but I'ma modify it just a bit.. The spaceships blew the stuffing out of eachothers and littered the planet with Debris (Goody Huts :D)

I've been working on the mod most of the day and I've come up with this-

Okay, we have 31 possible Civs, right? Lets use 'em all! (Eventually)

Heres My Suggestions So far...

Orkz Racial Trait- Mil
Goffs
Evil Sunz
Bad Moonz
Blood Axes
Snakebitez
Deathskulz

Eldar Racial Trait- Sci
Some.... Eldar
Dark Eldar...
Four Others

Tau Racial Trait- Exp
Well.. Six Factions. .but.. The Tau ain't really into the Faction thing.. We're gunna hafta make' em!

Chaos Racial Trait- Rel
Chaos Undivided
Slaanesh
Khrone
Nurgle
Tzneetch
Tyranids (I'll explain this in a minute)

Imperial/Space Marines Racial Trait- Ind
Imperial Gaurd
Space Wolves
Iron Hands
White Scars
Blood Angels
Daemonhunters
Witch Hunters

Okay about the Tyranids in the Chaos Culture.... I know I siad before that we probably wouldn't have the Tyranids. I LIED. After doing some research I have come to realize that the Tyranids are really really cool. See, the Chaos graphic are going to be pretty wierd looking.. and honestly, so would the Tyranids. So we stick the Tyranids into the Chaos culture. I know its a stretch but its the best I could do. Oh, the Bugs wouldn't be relgious.

Um.. thoughts?

By the way, Great Apple.. The text on the Glyph sheet didn't scan well and is pretty hard to read.. if you could type it up I'd REALLY appreciate it...

Sounds good! :goodjob:

I'm still against dividing the Imperium into seperate civs

If you're still going to do that then you might as well make the following independent civs too ...

Adeptus Titanicus
Adeptus Custodes
Adeptus Mechanicus
Adeptus Arbites
Adeptus Astronomica
Adeptus Astra Telepathica
The Administratum
The Inquisition
The Navigators
The Emporers' Own Pet Cat ;)

And what about the UltraMarines and the Dark Angels?

The Grey Knights are in there. Their the Daemonhunters. You have to udnerstand; its a Unique Situation here. There is no hope of contacting 'home'. Most of the 'Imperial' Civs relalize this, but one or two might not. About the Ultra MArines and Dark Angels.. .Err.. They can't fit :p

Dump the Iron Hands and White Scars then, (NOBODY likes those rubbishy space marine chapters anyway) and replace them with the much more popular Ultramarines and Dark Angels :)

And since you're dividing up the Imperial side ... don't forget the Imperial Bin-men and their Dust-carts!

I think that they're called the Adeptus Garbagicus Disposalica ;)

:mischief: . o O ( I wonder if Embryodead is going to start a WH40k mod now that the Warhammer mod is almost done ... I might defect  )

I hope not. I was looking foreward to his help, not his competition.

Yeah but this is going exactly into the *other* direction
Whats that supposed to mean, ED?

Look, if you want to make your own 40K mod, thats fine, Go right ahead! but I don't want to compete with you. Both of our mods are probably going to be good. I've already put alot of thought and effort into this and even more is going in. And no doubt you wil ldo the same for your mod.

All I'm asking is just please don't treat me like the 'enemy', cuz I'm not. I'd even like to share ideas with you. And when you finish a 40K unit please please release it to the public... Or I mean, atleast me? PLEASE?

;) Sounds interesting. But I can't think of Chaos troops alliancing with Imperials or Tyranids with anyone. ;) But that is detail work.

Story is superb for tech tree building. Thinking of inventing new ways for building known units with new ressources. :)

Well GF I'm not treating you as enemy, I just don't like the way you speak. People said several times that there's no need to make 31 civs at this point, and you reply with that "You want a scenario, I'm making a mod". It's cool that *you* are making a mod. and that "just cuz". and that you want to make up things every other post, when there's no need. and.. well nvm

Unfortunetly if ED does start a separate mod, there is inevatbly going to be competition, as both mods will be very similar in many aspects, including probably all the units, and I think having two different 40k mods would be pointless.

I also think that ED is the natural leader for a 40k mod, if he wants to be, as he knows about the 40k universe and has had experience modding a completely new mod - he can also make units and leaderheads. While I think some of Goldflash's ideas are good, I think they can be incorperated into a mod made by ED (once the fantasy mod is out, of course!).

Personally I think 31 civs is a bit high for a starting point. I'd say the first release should go without Tau and Tyranids, and maybe even eldar.

Sorry Goldflash - it must seem like we're all turning against you, but I think what you have done is good, but what ED can do will probably be better...
