Warhammer Fantasy Mod 2.0

Sounds awsom! I cant wait.

Can you give us a list of new additions to be in the Conquests version of Warhammer?

@the100thballoon
I won't tell anything until I get C3C :) From official info, it's obvious that the C3C editor is a huge step forward, and 2.0 version of WH-Mod will be very different.
Some things, like new Lizardmen faction and new units, will be added to PTW version.

@Kindred72
The bandwidth limit was exceeded it seems (too much downloads :) ). It should be back soon, but I don't when exactly.

November 1st I am guessing. The bandwidth thing is reset monthly.

Chaos has nothing to do with the undead. Chaos = demons, beasts and chaos worshippers. Undead are raised by necromancers, liches, mummies, vampire lords etc.

Oh, well you learn something new everyday :)

You've probably already thought of this but. . .

In the C3C version, you should give the Necromancers 'enslavement' and make the result skeletons/zombies.

Vampires could probably have lesser vampires.

Maybe demons that create a 'disembodied soul' unit (make it a cruise missile that can be loaded into the demon as a one shot attack spell).

I'm sure theres lots of other fantasy archetypes that could use this too.

@Tacit_Exit
Thanks. I don't know how moddable enslavement is. If you can assign a different slave to each unit, then that would be very cool.

Vampire, Necromancer -> Skeleton Warrior
Liche, Mummy -> Skeletal Minion
Vampire Lord -> Vampire
Chaos Cultist, Demons -> Chaos Cultist
Wizards/Sorcerers -> familiars (small animals etc.)
Some could also obtain treasure this way (have to test that)

You can definately assign what unit is created by enslave units individually, just check out the designer diary for Rise of Rome; they have a number of different units with enslavement that produce different results.

Its not like the old 'one setting for captured unit in general tab' situation (though I'm sure that still exists for non-enslavement captures).

The ability to have custom slaves and unique slaves dependent upon what unit was captured is very cool! Where did you learn that you could do this?

@embryodead
If i send you my mod (or post it) would you apply some of your animated leaderheads to it? I need anim leaderheads and I dont know how. I have elves, etc so i thought id ask you about it.

I've played a bit as the dwarves now. I found a small bug (?), the dwarven shrine shows the mediterranean graphic in the build queue, but the american pedia icon.

I think it would be good if the civilopedia listed which civs can build a unit, sometimes I don't know if it's ok to sell Riding to the Elves, for example, as I can't see if/which horse units they can build. Can I sell Camels to the Emprie? Questions like these.
What I ask for is the text "This unit can be built by Dolgans, Kislev and Estalia." :goodjob:

I also like sea trade to come early. In the lotm we'll split the harbor, the trade part is one thing, the veteran boats another, maybe you'd like to use that idea? :king:

I like the mod. :D

Tacic_Exit already wrote this info is from C3C designer's diary, Rise of Rome.
If you want to mod, you must learn how to add leaderheads, it's not difficult. You have to edit PediaIcons.txt file (there are 13 entries for each race, use file from WH-Mod as reference, or just copy the right links), then in the .bix file, under civilizations tab, there are flic links in the bottom-left corner. Again, use my mod as reference, since you want the same heads.
Then, copy all PCX files for a given head, to your scenario folder. There is always one file in Art/Advisors, two files in Arti/Civilopedia/Icons/Races and 10 files in Art/Leaderheads.
As you already have the Net Art folder, you don't need to copy the animations or include them in your zip.

@mrtn
Yeah it seems that pedia shows temple instead of shrine. Your suggestion on pedia entries for units is good, I'll do it. Thanks.
As for the harbor - I wanted to split harbor into harbor and fishery much earlier, though I've run out of space in tech tree :) So splitting it into 3 would make even more mess. I'll make a new tree divided into 4 eras for C3C. But also, when sea trade should come then? Ship Building is quite an early tech.

@aaglo
Zombies - I would certainly add some if they were available. Wanted to make one, but it's just one of many things I'd like :rolleyes:

Well, think about how it was in our world, sea trading has been done almost since day one, or at least the bronze age. You could have the "sea trade harbor" at the earliest sea tech, and the "veteran ships harbor" at some later tech, maybe even in the second era (you don't need veteran Coracles, do you? ;)).
And you can call one of the buildings Harbor, and the other Docks (to keep it simple). :)

I made a scenario for WH... I created it for multiplayer-use with some friends (so there are only 8 civs). The point is a multiplayer scenario that encourages collaboration with the other human players rather than competition. You shouldn't play Chaos as the point of the scenario is to defeat Chaos:

@Owain
I can't play the map since I'm not into multiplayer at all, but I just checked it in the editor, and it looks nice and full of all kinds of stuff ;) I'd love to include it in future "scenario-pack" if you don't mind (I'm working on Imperial Cathay scen right now).
Thanks :)

embryo-Im working on a map for the mod too, its nothing big, just a few edits to make it look more like a fantasy map:)

OMG OMG OMG.....never heard of warhammer.....but doesn't mean i don't think this kicks ass.......NICE to see such a great MOD with completly new game to play, love how all ur units and leaderheads have developed into this.....i wish everyone would make units that would help make great mods like this rather than 1000 new age fighterjets, tanks, and what not

KEEP UP the work, hopefully i wont start neglecting the kids tonight by getting so invovled into this, just dled and installed it!!!
