Nothing has changed.

Never have I not been able to get to the main menu, but now the game starts loading, then just stops, no error message no nothing.

Was playing it fine last night, woke up this morning, and now this.

Did this happen to anyone else?

There has been no patch as far as I can see. Cant see any window updates. I rebooted the computer still does it. I have a quad core with tons of ram.

So Sick of how unstable CIV 5 is..................

any ideas?

cheers,
fred

Try:
Updating your video card drivers.

Delete clientregistry.blob in Steam's install folder on your hard drive.

Right click on Civilization V in your list of Steam games (left side of Steam) and select properties. Click Local Files and try verifying the game, try defragging the game cache.

EDIT: Also first bring up task manager after you start the game and it doesn't start, ctrl + alt + del, and see if Civ5's .exe file is running, if it is end it and try again).

Thanks for your reply Prince,

Yeah it looks like the civilization5.exe was corrupt, I tried verifying it with worldbuilder and it brought up that message. So i reinstalled the entire game and it now works.

What i want to know is how can a file that was working fine last night (last program i used I might add) now all of a sudden become corrupt, given I was asleep during the "corruption phase"?
