We´re not all barbarians

IHT 285-
deleted army as sign said gaining +10gpt

oups, i didn't plan for erase, just to put them back on motherland/other usefull places :mischief:
well, if i remeber correctly that was not great armies :p

IHT 285-
it took my pc 2.5hrs to just play those turns

turns are getting very long on this map. I took 3 hours for my last set.

the settler was planed to the tile 2N from his position to get corn + all usefull tiles left in southern america

All workers are needed in south america, unload them and go cut jungles :p

remarqs:
I noticed that hooverdam (or whatever is is new name) is available: to be build in burgundiam?
in asian cities build hydrodam could be usefull for health

Korea need to have as mutch specialiste as possible for an earlier golden age. 1 more will give the GP 1 turn earlier.

Rolo is UP

Imhotep on deck (assuming he gets a civ computer)

I'm next iirc.

UN diplo would be another fun win though its likely to be a stalemate.

Techwise maybe refrig>superconductors for supermarkets, labs and maybe tradebait.

I have a civ computer. Brand new. I just have no Internet yet because my provider seems plugging the wrong cables on his own end. Should be resolved soon though.

As for the 3 gorges dam it's definitely worth trying for, easy access to power on the whole continent is nice. Although building hydro plants is not of advantage compared to a coal plant or a nuclear power plant - as of 3.19 power always gives +2 unhealthiness regardless of the source.

I see Rolo is waiting for a set in RR16A when he's already got a set in this game. Confusing .

Yeah, sorry . Have been giving some hours in a voluntary basis project and my civ time is reduced a lot for this week.

I should had asked for a skip, but as I haven't , I will deliver the set tomorrow at worse :(

No problem. If you haven't got the time then skip or swop, if you're in the mood then play, playing under duress isn't fun, even if the duress is self-imposed.

Ok, preparing to play ...

Some questions, though:

1) Do we have any reason to tech sats, as it is queued ? I would prefer going Superconductors for the labs and maybe grab the net in the way...

2) astre is suggesting TGD in SA. IMHO it would make more sense to make it in Ning -Hsia or somewhere in Asia proper ... more cities there, after all

Well, for the 2nd time in this game I have some ... interesting news:
Spoiler :

Waiting for instructions ( this was literally after ending the inherited turn btw )

No SoD. So far only a Aztec frigate in S. America and a Incan caravel in Aussie waters. Typical Monty looniness.

I think we can smash Monty if we want to ( especially since our DP dragged Cyrus and co to this war ) . My point is the if ... Monty is in the rifle age , so if we muster a big enough SoD to soak his trillion rifles we can grab most of N. America and consolidate our S. America empire. But that would mess with out push towards the space race ...

Anyway, if we decide to go Monty , I will change the teching to flight. We need it for any decent warfare in this age.

Not looking at the save and relying on a somewhat senescent memory :old: I'm wondering if it would be possible to annihilate HC to finish off south america and hurt Monte enough to get peace.

edit: Superconducters would be cool, we want supermarkets, they're very civilised. Internet, why not?

I would think it very civilized to let the natives throw their sticks and stones, but leave them alone while looking after our bones. But do as you see fit!

I was thinking more on Radio ->Computers ( and net )->Superconductors , but Refrigeration would also help ;)

Cleaning HC would be certainly possible, but that would not clean S. America, with all those Euro colonies in the eastern coast. If we go against Monty I would start by erasing HC as well, to give us time to deploy enough of airforce ( we will link our oil this turn ) for the inevitable monty megastack. And if we go that way, why not finish Monty for good ? He uses feathers in his head , for heavens sake ;) It would not be more civilized to liberate his subjects of him?

TGD in Asia - that is where our developed core is.

No real pref for techs.

Unless we have flight I think trying to get enough troops to go offensive vs. Monty will be a PAIN.

It will be a pain anyway, since we can't deploy troops from S. America north unless by ship. As we lack a Atlantic navy, even taking our army to US territory ( Monty has no OB with them ) would be hard enough.

Barring settling a crappy Alaskan city and $rush ( after a GA fueled civic switch to US from Rep ) a airport there, there is virtually no way of leveraging flight before we capture our first city in N. America. So we have a good bunch of turns to get flight anyway ...

OMG, rolo, you are blessed :D

I vote for cleaning bad influence of HC in south america. his culture make our crapy jungle cities really clumsy. With HC removed, we gain a lot of space :D

Last time i checked, flight was available on trade.
If fascism is also available, I would do : build airports in asia, build paratroupers, invade incas.

After that, If armies are unused, i would try monty, but well, he is always a pain at the begining. too mutch units build for good medecine.

with so mutch possibility in america to expend, that make the TGD really intersting in america :D

for science, I think flight become a priority, by trade if possible.
after that going radio seems tempting.
refrigeratin could follow radio.

I'm actually hoping we're still at war when I'm up. I spend much of my spare time studying military history and tactics. In other words, I really enjoy a good war. I often go as far as keeping a web copy of The Art of War out while playing military strategy games.
