We Are All The Same

We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves.

I wouldn't say that it's new, exactly- remember that the Protocols of the Elder of Zion was a best-seller in its day. What's difference is that it's developed into a subculture which experiences a perverse combination of isolation and exposure, so it's both more obvious and more bizarre than it used to be.

They didn't have internet, radio and YouTube back then. Now, there's this cornucopia of conspiracy theory out there for people to buy into.

The biggest danger is that real conspiracies have a better chance of being dismissed and allowed to continue because of all the noise generated by baseless claims.

How could there not be anything?

There is a theory within theoretical physics that states that we are not actually here, but in fact projections of ourselves, as is the rest of the universe, which in fact exists billions of light-years away, on the surface of the inside of a curved surface, in only two dimensions.

There is of course something, and that thing is both of us. In fact the "self" that we identify with everyday is that thing. It is pure conciousness.

What is pure consciousness? What is consciousness? Why is the answer to either of these questions relevant to anything?

If you want to go back even further, Early Modern England loved itself some conspiracy theories.
True enough- you can say what you like about the modern "conspiracy market", at least it's not actively informing government policy.

I don't know about England. In the U.S. the global warming conspiracy theory is practically a prerequisite for Republican candidates.

I'm going to take the literal approach to this thread and say, no, we are not all the same. If we were all the same, natural selection would have killed us off eons ago. Variation is the key to success.

@OP Whoa! I mean, yes. No. Wait. Maybe. Hang on.

Anyway, according to that clip by Alan Moore:

If you are on a list targeted by the CIA you have nothing to worry about. On the other hand, if you have a name similar to someone on a list targeted by the CIA you are dead.

Where can I sign up to join a conspiracy theorist group targeted by the CIA?

Help!

But why am I safe if I'm in a conspiracy group, but dead outside of one, if, as seems highly likely, there's someone with the name Borachio in a conspiracy group.

Is that Alan Moore guy nuts? Or is it me?

Sure. You don't have to achieve anything and you don't need to impress anyone.

But what if you want to?

Not all that unconnected really.

So it's okay just to cry wolf about everything that might be a conspiracy? If you manage to get a hit once in a while but most of the world ignores your ranting what good is that going to do?

Just start posting about Dulce, New Mexico.

People have written numerous things about Dulce and are still doing so.

We are all overwhelmingly similar.

With little frilly bits of differences round the edges.
