We Are All The Same

Woah, I missed that edit. You realise that David Icke is a complete lunatic, don't you? I mean, not just of the "irritating crank" kind like Ayn Rand, I mean that he literally believes the world is run by a conspiracy of Jew-lizards, and that he was sent by God to do apocalyptic battle with them. He is not somebody should allow to convince you of anything.

:dunno: It just seemed like a video that could better express what I'm trying to convey. I want you feel as free as I do now. None of this stuff you're doing matters, none of the reasons you make up for it to matter are valid reasons, you just are, just like everything ever is. It's the most beautiful truth I've ever realized. I've known this for a while at an intellectual level, but when you truly realize what's going on within your own head, the feeling is incredible :)

There is no need for me to impress anybody. There is nothing that I need to acheive in life. There is nothing that I could possibly lose. Human society is just something I made up. I just am. And so are you. Because we are the same thing, because there is only one thing.

It was an incredible epiphany for me when I realized that all of life is really just a special subset of solutions to fundamental natural equations. Elementary particles will interact and given time and the right circumstances, life will emerge. What is particularly humbling to think about is the absurd amount of interactions that go on in the universe, and how few, AFAWK, will lead to self-assembly and life.

Really, we are quite a lucky roll of the dice.

I think of it less as a trip and more of a catalyst into this world of complete freedom that was a moment away from me my entire life.

"Natural laws" are models we have created to describe and predict the behaviour of the natural world. They do not, in themselves, exist.
They constitute constant properties. And those properties could be broken down to things that do themselves exist. An electron is an electron. A tree may change every ounce of existence. Does an electron? Its position, interaction perhaps. But does itself change constantly?

Yes they do. They can literally pop in and out of existance at random. True story.

IIRC they can also combine from and break into an electon and positron (anti-electon) pair.

drug fuelled premonitions are always the most incomprehensible to sober people on the internet
Can't be a premonition. He isn't Paul Muad'dib Atreides, nor does he have access to the Spice.:p

They constitute constant properties.
No, they're theoretical models which purport to describe consistent modes of behaviour. Physical properties can be experienced, but "natural laws" cannot; we do not experience e.g. the Laws of Thermodynamics, but, rather, experience heat behaving in a particular, consistent manner, which we are able to describe using those laws.

And those properties could be broken down to things that do themselves exist. An electron is an electron. A tree may change every ounce of existence. Does an electron? Its position, interaction perhaps. But does itself change constantly?
Yes. It's an excitation in the electron field; it exists and can exist only so far as it is in motion. If it "stopped", so to speak, it'd cease to exist. (I mean, that isn't really the main thrust of what I'm getting at, which is more about ontology and epistemology than physics, but as it happens bottom-level physics seems to agree with me on this one. Make of that what you will.)

I don't accept the implicit dichotomy between objective meaning and meaningless as valid. Subjective meaning, human meaning, meaning-through-practice, this is what I am interested in. It without a doubt exists; if it did not, you would simply curl up on the floor and die.

I'll step away from the Jew-lizard conspiracy theory when he does.

Does he still preach that crap or has he switched to a different line of thought? I haven't been keeping with it. I consider it a waste of time.

I think it's still the foundation stone of his beliefs.

His last book added the claim that the moon is a giant space-station that the Jew-lizards use to project their mind-control rays, so it's probably safe to say that the shores of the fair isle Reason are not beckoning to the good ship Icke.
