We might be moving

Just try to be like Godwynn, and get lots of pictures of hot drunk chicks. It doesn't matter how.

But seriously, I went from a class of 70 in Grade school to a class of 400 in High school. Yes, small, but still a jump of more than five times as many people, so it was like coming to a new school.I had a lot of friends from my old school coming to high school with but I don't talk to any of them anymore. I thought we were really good friends, but, obviously not. So, I met a few new people who happened to be a lot like me (kind of nerdy, and RIDICULOUSLY intelligent), and now I hang out with them all the time. They are my only friends, but thats what's important. They're awesome people, and we will be friends for a long time. So, I guess it was kind of an experience to find out what kind of person I was. Still, I'm really happy that I was able to transition schools very well.

go out for some sports teams, you will meet people that way (or if you dont like sports, other extra curicular activities)

We might be moving from New Orleans to somewhere around Washington D.C. because my dad might be getting a new job in Washington. I'm pretty afraid because I've never moved before while I was old enough to care or have worries about it. The last time I moved was in Kindergarten! How am I gonna meet new people at school? What do I do or where do I sit during lunch (in my opinion, the worst time at school if you don't know anyone) those first few days until I meet new people? What if I don't make new friends? Any advice on moving to a new place?

I moved a lot (like 15 times) when I was a kid/teenager. Here's my advice when you will move to your new school:
1. you will probably find people like you, who are new. Befriend them. You don't have to be best friends, but they might introduce you to their networks of friends, and from there...
2. be proactive. Do not expect people to come and see you, do it yourself.
3. Be humble and make jokes at your own expenses: nothing breaks the ice like seeing someone that's not arrogant, but ready to laugh! I say that because a common reaction to moving to somewhere new is to automatically dismiss everything that's not like you used to know. Be very wary of that :)

Haha, he's pretty good at that.

I just quit the football team here, but I suppose I could join the football team there.

Hey Homeg, I just moved to northern Virginia, near DC - we could hang out together!

No, really, my advice is simple: Relax, be yourself, and don't be afraid to laugh at yourself. And don't set your expectations too high; you're probably not going to make a whole lot of friends, especially really close ones right off the bat. It takes time, but work at it.

Buddy do you have any clue about what football is like in Texas.? I play football here and still do...I am 6 foot 1 and weigh 178. That is small when compared to standards in Texas.

Practice in 120 degree weather will be a *****. But hey its all worth the blood sweat and tears to have a championship ring or better yet a whole butt load of wins...

So I think joining football down in Texas is going to be tougher...not to mention Track...dear god thats gonna suck

No, but I know what it's like here, and I hear that it's about 8 hundred million times worse in Texas than here!
