[We the People] Bug reporting

The screenshot shows that there is no "unload" button. according to the player, the barracks were overcrowded. as soon as he withdrew the extra troops, it became possible to unload the cargo. the save was not provided, but I think it can be simulated.

Can´t unload any cargo or units (non-military) in my first city/capital when barracks is full.
I just fixed it internally.

Maybe we will have a bugfix release WTP 4.0.2 again this evening. :dunno:
(Just this morning in the first hour after waking up I fixed 3 bugs reported last night.)

----

Sorry for the inconvenience. :undecide:

But us programmers really did not have time to test much last week.
We were too busy finishing the todos / bugfixes that were already on our list.

Now that we have several hundreds of players "testing" some new bugs are found.
Good thing is that until now, every single bug reported was fixed already.

----

So please forgive that there may be a bugfix release here and there coming.
(It was just not possible to test all gameplay in actual games without postponing for another month.)

WTP 4.01: The "Paying the freedom of an indentured" event, the option to pay his fees adds the 1500 gold to the treasury, instead substract it.
Happened only one time for me, and I don't know how to replicate it. Anyway it might worth to check it.
BTW: Great mod! Like it so much :king:

Light artillery unit graphics in Europe looks pressed thin
@raystuttgart

This is a tough one. This problem is really difficult. It's definitely not an issue of the graphics.

All the artillery graphics (city management graphics which are used here) have the same size, i.e. for the light and the heavy artillery, as well as the standard profession and the one for the veteran unit - the graphic for the European port always has the same dimensions.

The display problem strangely only shows up for the standard units, i.e. not for the veterans. So even though they all have the same dimensions, only the professions that do not have veteran status are affected. All others are displayed correctly - for light as well as for heavy artillery.

I have a suspicion that the normal ones are somehow processed as settlers and not as artillery - possibly a screen problem? Possibly a wrong display field is assigned here with too little space? Possibly one would have to check the DLL files? In any case I am at a loss and cannot fix it.

Sorry if this has been addressed already, but when I play it, accented letters get a "question mark" letter used. I suspect it has something to do with font settings, but I have no idea how to go about dealing with it.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Playing v. 4.0.1 and I'm unable to load units in Europe on the discounted galleon provided by the king's event, either manually or autoload. Also there's no city listed on the destination panel.
check the description of the galleon in Pedia.
and perhaps your city is located in shallow water.

I can recommend changing the default font for your OS.

@jooe had fixed this last night.

Edit:
Ah, now I also saw his post. :)

It is more likely that you installed in "My Documents", which we said NOT to do.
If the path in the file system to the mod has non-latin special characters such issues may occur.

Please show us the path in the file system you installed the mod.

Able captain - can it only give exp to total rookies, or what`s the deal with them? Right now I have two units of them without the "lead troops" button. Earlier it worked fine.

*save file just in case

1. always leave active only the unit with which you need help, do not complicate the work of your assistants. if I was lazy, I would not have found capable captain with the help of an adviser.
2. either you read the topics about innovations diagonally, or you didn’t see them at all. in any case, we are dealing with a lack of information about the unit. brave lieutenant gives ground troops experience, and capable captain gives naval experience.

@Kendon , could you update this information for the brave lieutenant and capable captain?

I've got an unusual problem with the new mod, and don't know if it's a bug exactly. There's just a blank white background on the main menu, and while the new resources show on the map ok the cities have white blocks instead of text on them, and in the city screen the new resources show as black blocks.

The game works, and the new units show, but it's unplayable if you can't see what how many people are in a city or what resources to farm. I've tried everything with changing resolutions and even uninstalling some grpahics programs to see if they're interfering, but no luck. Version 3.0.1 worked great, but 4.0.1 is annoying me!

The mod is installed in the Mods folder of the Sid Meier's Civilization IV Colonization folder, but I was able to solve it on my own thanks to this page:

(I'm using Windows 10 btw, sorry I didn't mention this before.) Go to Control Panel, Clock and Region, Region, the Administrative tab, Change system locale, and uncheck Beta: use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support.

I should add I'm using win7 32-bit (hey, it works for me) with the CD version patched to 1.01f and everything installed in the right place. I'll get screenshots later if that would be helpful.

That's the first I have heard about such an issue. I know there are reports of weird stuff happening on 32 bit systems when using pkg files so we have intentionally avoided using those.

I would like to see screenshots. Based on what you have written, you have a problem with city billboards and you have problems with text in the colony screen. The first is 3D while the latter is 2D and as such should be completely independent of each other.

You could try using smaller maps to reduce the memory usage to see if that affects anything. Also I hope you installed the mod in Mods in the game install dir rather than in My Documents because the latter can result in weird graphics where some graphic files aren't read and it messes up the display randomly, possibly like this.

Other than that I can't think of anything right now. Maybe if I see screenshots I can figure out if there is a pattern to which graphics have broken, which in turn could give a hint to how fix this. Since it's a 32 bit application, it should be possible to get working on a 32 bit computer, at least in theory. I will admit I haven't tried 32 bit windows in quite a while.
