Ok, when I updated my computer I've got all the time these weird messages. They just suddenly pop-up, I've never had any kind of problems when I had my old computer but now this. Could somebody clear if this is virus scam or what this is?

I hate technology, it never works. Awful weekend with computer and saga continues

these are not real error messages. your computer's just fine. it's just that spammers have discovered the windows messaging tool. Do NOT listen to what the messages say. they just want to fool you into downloading some of their tools (propably adware or worse)

a personal firewall should take care of that. or alternatively in winxp (and I guess in win2000 too) you can turn it off by deactivation the Windows Messageingservice

edit: damn, zelig was faster ;)

Weird. I had all the same firewalls and virus protections before format and any of these didn't occured but why now.?

start, run type services.msc press enter
find messenger service, and click on disabled and stop.

those are no error messages, but messages from remote spammers

Thanks guys you are the best :goodjob:

what windows version are you running?

Try using msconfig to disable messenger service?

Start -> Run -> type: msconfig -> Ok -> Services tab -> uncheck "Messenger"

Your firewall should be blocking them really.
