Welcome New Members

Im new here so I dont know much but i have been playin civ3 PTW for a while and i wanted to enhance the game play.

P.S great site

Hi to one and all. I am new to the site, but as a seasoned player since Civ 1, I am looking forward to everyones comments and as many games as poss.

I used to play Civ I back in the days. That means, I'm OLD! Not really, perhaps, but I'm 30 in a few days now, and maybe I should be having kids and not being a computer nerd playing Civ IV by now...

Seriously, I'm not really a computer nerd. I have a life and all, I'm a Master of Science research engineer at the National Veterinary Institute of Sweden, I have a beautiful woman and USUALLY I only play computer games occasionaly..... but when I tried Civ IV, it was like giving a sip of wine to a sober alocoholic - I got addicted again! Well, ok, not as bad as for some of you guys, perhaps, but... I havn't even played through one whole game yet, but I still spend way to many hours in front of Civ IV. My girlfriend is getting quite annoyed!

Anyways, I like this forum. Good to meet other Civ-nerds! Cheers!

Heighdy-ho, there.

I played the original Civilization frequently back in the DOS Age, then later stepped up to Civ II when it came out, but somehow it didn't quite have the same appeal. I managed to miss Civ III (I guess I blinked), but a friend of mine showed me Civilization IV on his PC and I thought I'd give it a shot.

My copy's on order, and I thought I should find a good fan site in case any technical problems came up, plus I figured it'd be a good source of other perspectives in playing the game. I found that out when I joined the Sid Meier's Pirates! Hooked on Pirates (formerly Cutlass Island) a year ago; not only was able to resolve a few glitches, I was able to keep abreast of news and learn about some of the game's features, as well as make my own contributions. (I'm one of several acknowledged gurus for the where-is-this-treasure-map-directing-me? issue there).

Pirates! notwithstanding, my favorite PC games are mostly the 4X genre (no, not that  ; eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) such as, well, Civilization, Alpha Centauri, Colonization (hmm, I see a trend here), Master of Orion, Master of Magic, Reach For The Stars, etc.

Just joined the site, and after getting whupped enough on Civ 3 to hate it, then figuring out how to win, am now fully converted into being a civ fanatic.

Hi I'm Bookdust. I'm new here. I joined mostly because I'm looking to play online with someone in civ ii.

Hi everyone.I'm new in the forum.I've been playin civ3 for over a year.My friend get me hooked to Civ4. I find it a nice game and hope to learn more:)

Hello all, I was/am a huge CivIII fan and I am currently adjusting to CivIV. This is a great website with all the resources and debate a player coudl ever need.

Hi guys,

I'm Intrinsica. I've had Civilization IV for a while now, a few months. However, I put it down after a short time, and only recently picked it up again. Needless to say, I'm therefore completely new to it really. I don't even have the history with the other Civ games, as I only played Civ III at a friend's house a couple of times.

However, I feel that I should also say that I'm addicted to Civ IV now.

I'm a 45 year old gamer. My wife will never understand. I picked up CivIV on a business trip and ended up playing it on my laptop for most of three days instead of doing my work. I think that summarizes the level of my addiction right there.

My problems started with CivIII, but leveled up significantly after CivIV came out. I discovered Sullla's and Sirian's websites and their excellent game descriptions and those hooked me forever. I blame them, almost exclusively. (I can't blame myself, you see.)

I like the Civ Fanatics website. It feeds my hunger.

... can someone out there help me? ... Please ...

Hey everyone. I have played civ 3 for some years and still think it's a great game, but civ 4 is even better, having so many new options, especially in civics and religion. I've played civ 4 a couple of times and everything goes well below immortal level, which means I already have more success at mastering civ4 than I have ever had in playing civ 3. Looking forward to discuss the game with you on this forum!
